The State War Memorial is a part of King’s Park and is one of the most popular historic monuments in Perth. The construction of the War Memorial started in 1928 and was completed just a year later, enclosing an inner chamber in which you will find all the names of men and women from Western Australian who were killed during World War I. It is a memorial to all the heroes, representing their bravery and reminding some of the darkest pages in the Australian history. Considering also the location, the War Memorial offers spectacular views of the city of Perth.

The Swan River is known as a fantastic place for relaxing in the riverside parks, or for swimming or kayaking. The history behind the name comes from local aboriginals who believed that a rainbow serpent known as the Wagyl created this river. The Perth Zoo was opened in 1898 and is located about 3km from the city center. Featuring kangaroos, koalas, wombats, Tasmanian devils, as well as exhibits from the Australian Bushwalk and Wetlands to give visitors the experience of different ecosystems and unique imposing landscapes. The Zoo is home to more than 1,500 animals in total, and you can interact and ‘play’ with them, with giraffe feeding and elephant shows.
