Tukwila, just south of Seattle, takes its name from Chinook slang for the hazelnuts that once grew here. It’s super-convenient for Seattle–Tacoma International Airport and a good base camp for day trips throughout the region, especially if you choose one of the top hotels in Tukwila – bookable on Culture Trip.

The hotel is just steps away from the Amtrak service to Seattle and Tacoma from Tukwila station – but don’t confuse this station with a pair of similarly named Link light rail stations near the airport, as they’re reasonably close, too.

Some guest rooms feature sitting areas and balconies. Yes, Tukwila has two Courtyard by Marriott hotels, so double-check which one you’re booking. This one is about two minutes closer to the airport via the free shuttle – it’s also within walking distance of the small Amtrak station and the Green River Trail.
