If you’re looking for a great spot to eat, shop and have fun by Galveston Bay, the Kemah Boardwalk is the place. With an amusement park and delicious eats, this would be perfect for a family fun day, a date or just a day out with your friends.
The Kemah Boardwalk was named one of the top ten American boardwalks by Forbes Traveler in 2009, and there’s no surprise as to why. With restaurants like Landry’s Seafood House, The Cadillac Bar, and Bayside Grill, there are a variety of choices for you from which to choose. If you want a view of a 50,000-gallon aquarium, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Aquarium Restaurant has just that.

Located 20 miles from Downtown Houston, the boardwalk is built along the shores of Galveston Bay and Clear Lake. The best part of the boardwalk are the rides. The boardwalk features a 36-foot carousel and a 65-foot Ferris wheel. If you’re more of an adrenaline seeker, there are rides like the Boardwalk Bullet, a 96-foot-tall wooden roller coaster that reaches speeds of more than 50 miles per hour, or the Pharaoh’s Fury, a pendulum ride that rocks back and forth. When there are carnival rides present, there are always carnival-like games. Win a prize or two! Either way, you’ll be having fun. There is also a Stingray Reef where you can touch and feed live stingrays.
