Think Nashville, and you likely think of honky-tonk bars, country and western music, and late nights rinsed in bourbon and tequila. Indeed, it has a laid-back and fun vibe. Explore all the city has to offer from one of the best hotels with pools in Nashville – bookable on Culture Trip.

1. AC Hotel by Marriott Nashville Downtown

Marriott snagged this location just off Korean Veterans Boulevard for its first “tri-brand” hotel. Combining an AC Hotel, SpringHill Suites and Residence Inn all in one complex, it promises you more amenities than you can shake a stick at. Case in point – the shared outdoor heated pool on the sixth floor. Reserve a spot, either in the shade or under the sun’s rays, and let those Tennessee temperatures work through you as you gaze at the skyscrapers reflected in its surface.

2. Kimpton Aertson Hotel

The rooftop pool at this Nashville hotel has a lovely view; from here, you can see the handsome brick clock tower of Kirkland Hall at Vanderbilt University. This eighth-floor seasonal getaway only admits hotel guests and residents of the apartments in the building. That’s good news – other rooftop pools in town have become clamorous public-drinking destinations. Place your chaise in the shallow end and bask, keeping cool as the day heats up.

3. Holston House Nashville

Could there be anything more utterly Nashville than lounging beside a rooftop pool with a bourbon-laced libation in hand while listening to the sounds of honky-tonk drifting up from below? Since Holston House resides downtown, this is precisely the scenario at TENN, the rooftop whiskey bar and pool. Just note that this is a wading, soaking and sipping pool. If it’s not crowded, there’s the possibility of getting in a few laps, but it isn’t a destination for diving.

4. Margaritaville Hotel Nashville

No one has nailed the poolside vibe quite like American singer-songwriter Jimmy ‘Margaritaville’ Buffett. So, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the pool at the fourth-floor Fins Bar seems to whisk you away to a legit tropical location. The mosaic pool has lounge chairs submerged in the cool, blue water. On Friday and Saturday nights, hotel guests have the pool to themselves; the rest of the week, it is open to anyone seeking out the laid-back Margaritaville lifestyle.

5. JW Marriott Nashville

The sleek skyscraper that houses the JW Marriott is one of the most modern, striking edifices on the Nashville skyline – a giant, elliptical glass drum, glinting silver. You’ll feel swanky and like an A-lister the second you walk into the lobby. By the time you get to the third-floor outdoor heated pool, lined with sleek, slimline white loungers, you’ll be looking for the paparazzi. Poolside cabanas have plenty of privacy, and the Cabana Club here does a thirst-quenching cucumber margarita.

6. Bobby Hotel

Downtown on Printers Alley, the Bobby is a hip hotel with a buzzy vibe as well as compelling art and decor that keep your eyes roving restlessly. That energy is only intensified on the rooftop, where you’ll find a photo-worthy bar constructed from a full-size Greyhound bus. Seasonal attractions include igloo-like cubicles in the winter. In the summer, the outdoor pool is lovely, with curvaceous lounge chairs semi-submerged, for ostentatious soaking.

7. Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center

The only true resort in Nashville is an oasis with atriums, indoor gardens, impeccable service and multiple pools to glide through. That includes seasonal outdoor pools and a year-round full-size lap pool conveniently close to the spa. The on-site SoundWaves water park is an adventurer’s dream. It has adult-only lounge areas, bars and food service, indoor slides, an outdoor wave pool with movie screens and a lazy river – for the perfect twirl.

8. Cambria Hotel Nashville Downtown

The fifth-floor outdoor pool at this Nashville hotel is an unusual cross shape. It’s not deep enough to dive into or long enough to permit lap swims. The pleasure of the place is the indolence it affords you – sitting, soaking, sipping and taking in the views of SoBro or south of Broadway. Based here, you’re perfectly positioned to wander downtown, admiring some of the most historic architecture in the city, including Renaissance Revival early high-rises and spindly spired churches.

9. The Westin Nashville

While you’re walking around downtown Nashville or SoBro, crane your neck at the Westin. You may be able to see the pool from the ground. L27 – on the 27th and 28th floors – is a two-story party palace, the blue water visible through its clear glass sides. Along with its cabanas, it’s a magnet for carousers and Instagrammers. Don’t roll up expecting to get in some laps, but do anticipate making a few new best buddies – this joint jumps by night.
