Sushi Yashuda is an upscale sushi restaurant located in Midtown East. Their sushi is selected from all over the world, including of course, Japan. They offer an uncluttered atmosphere with bamboo wood. The chefs at Sushi Yashuda turn sushi making into a science, preparing the rice carefully and selecting the freshest fish. They also pay attention to the ‘energy’ of the fish they select. They design their meals according to their customers’ needs and preferences, so no two meals are the same.

Bukhara Grill

Opened in 1999, Bukhara Grill brings flavors of North Indian cuisine. The atmosphere is rustic and creative with Persian carpets hung from the ceiling and cups and utensils brought from India. On the first floor there is a bar and a decorative cascading waterfall. On the second floor is the main dining area with a terrace that overlooks Amster Yard. The third floor is for private parties. A daily lunch buffet is offered and they are known for their flavorful kebabs.

Hillstone is a chain restaurant with a location in Midtown East that offers surf and turf. The Hillstone Burger is popular, a huge burger with melted cheddar. They also offer sushi and specialty drinks, and deliver an atmosphere that is both relaxed and sophisticated.

Avra Estiatorio

Avra Estiatorio is a Greek restaurant in Midtown East offering fresh fish and good service. The restaurant is decorated to look like a villa in Greece. The Kolokithi appetizer is popular, with crispy zucchini and eggplant chips. They also have an impressive wine list.

Shun Lee Palace

Shun Lee Palace is an upscale Chinese restaurant in Midtown East that opened in 1971. It has an elegant atmosphere and the dishes are both trendy and traditional. The Szechuan beef is a popular dish.

Alcala Restaurant

Alcala Restaurant is a Spanish restaurant with a relaxed setting and a back garden. They have a tapas menu in addition to a main menu. Trying the tapas is a good way to sample different dishes. They are well-known for their sangria and their paella and stuffed pepper are popular dishes.

Piccolo Fiore

Piccolo Fiore is an upscale Italian restaurant in Midtown East. It has Renaissance art reproductions on the walls, live music, and also offers cooking classes.

Grand Central Oyster Bar and Restaurant

Grand Central Oyster Bar is a seafood place in Midtown East with vaulted ceilings. Their oysters and chowder are popular and they also serve cheesecake and pies. The fried jumbo shrimp plate is another popular dish. They accept reservations for large parties.

Tao Uptown is an Asian fusion restaurant in Midtown. It has a giant Buddha statue in the center of the space and a lovely ambiance. The lunch special is popular as are the cocktails.
