The Roundhouse

The Roundhouse is situated at the helm of a sprawling former industrial complex. Overlooking Fishkill Creek, The Roundhouse’s main dining room, lounge, and patio area abound with stunning views of nearby Beacon Falls. Elegant but never snobbish, the culinary magic at The Roundhouse distinguishes this restaurant as its own unique brand of special occasion.

The Hop

Craft beer takes center stage at The Hop, with 16 or more local varieties always available on tap. Sampling a beer flight might be the best way to get started, given the superb quality and flavor of the extensive menu of micro-brew offerings. Originally opened as a small retail tasting room, the overwhelming popularity of The Hop eventually necessitated a relocation to larger digs, which includes greatly expanded dining capacity, as well as a tented outdoor biergarten. Whether grabbing a quick refresher with a friend or seeking a full-out dining experience, The Hop will definitely not disappoint.

Baja 328

This is a boisterous Southwestern grill that offers a choice of more than 100 varieties of tequila and an impressive margarita menu, including a popular Spicy Cucumber variety. To add to the appeal, Baja 328 offers a Wednesday special, which includes a reduced price on the featured margarita. Whenever weather permits, the restaurant’s glassed front wall is opened up onto the outdoor seating area.

Dogwood

Dogwood bar

A reasonably priced menu, plus a large selection of craft beer and a funky Brooklyn North vibe, makes Dogwood a particularly popular night spot. Live music is featured on numerous nights each week along with a variety of other live entertainment. Discover upcoming events via the Dogwood Facebook page.

The Pandorica

Dining room at The Pandorica

The Pandorica showcases British-style dining with a Dr. Who theme. The menu includes multiple Who-centric dishes, most notably the Eleventh Lord’s particular favorite, Fish Fingers and Custard. Other specialties include Gallifreyed Potatoes, the Madame Vastra Po Boy, and the Sally Sparrow Duck Salad. Don’t overlook the numerous purely British mainstays—such as Bangers and Mash or Cottage Pie (listed on the menu as Thymey Wimey.) Sit back and savor the restaurant’s large selection of teas—a generous potful for every table. On weekends, reservations are highly recommended, as there are a limited number of tables to serve an endless supply of devoted Dr. Who aficionados.

Max’s on Main

Max’s on Main, a classic bricked-walled pub nestled at the corner of Main and Walnut Streets, holds claim to being Beacon’s oldest bar. The menu features the very best of American pub fare and comfort food, with a host of well-conceived culinary enhancements. We recommend the Richie Havens Pasta. Sit back and enjoy live music on the weekends. Plus, Thursday is Karaoke Night.

Ziatun

Ziatun serves up moderately priced Palestinian, Arabic, and Middle Eastern dishes. The menu highlights several varieties of kebab and shawarma. Try the futur platter, as well as rose petal lemonade or Moroccan mint tea. The atmosphere is intimate and authentic, with limited additional seating available on the sidewalk. Ziatun’s owners are no strangers to Beacon’s burgeoning restaurant scene, running two other well-known Main Street venues—Beacon Bread Company and Tito’s Santana Taqueria.

Beacon Pantry

Beacon Pantry’s signature gourmet sandwiches are sophisticated and tasty. There’s alos a selection of cheese and charcuterie boards ideal for sharing on the pantry’s charming courtyard. Afterwards, wander into the attached Market at Beacon Pantry, filled to the brim with delectable cheeses, breads, pastries, desserts, meats, and pantry items. The Kitchen at Beacon Pantry, tucked away behind the cafe, regularly offers a variety of cooking classes.

Yankee Clipper Diner

Take a walk back through time at the Yankee Clipper Diner. The interior, though not original, remains steadfastly true to the decor of its post-WWII origins. The extensive menu offers all the usual diner favorites, and some unusual salad options and Greek specialties.
