This Tower Boasts NYC’s Tallest Terraced Penthouse
Downtown Manhattan’s 30 Park Place – a 82-story tower designed by architectural powerhouse Robert AM Stern – has recently become home to the tallest terraced penthouse in New York City.
Imagine waking up to a sweeping, 360-degree view of Manhattan every day, perched above the city on the 82nd floor. Your neighbors? Just regular New Yorkers such as Matthew Perry, Yolanda Hadid and multibillionaire real-estate developer Larry Silverstein. Lucky for you, this sprawling penthouse apartment in the Financial District offers exactly that – and it’s on the market for a cool $30 million.
For those of us who can’t scrape together that kind of cash, here’s a peek at one of the dreamiest views in the Big Apple.
Designed by Brooklyn-born architect Robert AM Stern, 30 Park Place already holds the record for the tallest skyscraper in the downtown area. Now, its newly completed 82nd floor takes the title of Manhattan’s tallest terraced penthouse, featuring four outdoor terraces with views of Midtown, the East and Hudson River, the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor. Penthouse 82’s outdoor area alone totals 732sqft (approximately 68sqm) – more than most New Yorkers’ entire apartments.
Interiors for the luxe pad were furnished by IMG, a New York-based luxury staging firm led by powerhouse designer Cheryl Eisen, and feature her signature white and beige color palette. The full-floor penthouse includes three bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, a formal reception hall and a living room with panoramic views. Highlights also include a library with a St Tropez limestone fireplace, a butler’s pantry (of course), a formal dining room with an adjacent family room and a huge master bedroom framed by double terraces that offer views to the south, east and west.
Soaring at nearly 900ft (274m) in the sky, Penthouse 82 is a record-breaking pinnacle in the downtown area. The entire building contains 157 luxury residences, as well as a Four Seasons Hotel.
