In the city that proudly spawned the Cronut and the Crack Pie, making healthy diet choices can feel like a losing battle sometimes.
Inspired by the Vegan “freakshakes” at London’s The Canvas Cafe (watch the video below and prepare for a major sugar swoon) we scoured the city for snacks that will satiate your sweet cravings without the guilt.
Here are some of the most indulgent vegan, gluten free, all-natural desserts New York has to offer.

Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit™

It’s hard to imagine a more delicious way to get your regular fill of fruit than Chloe’s Soft Serve. The flavors blend nothing but fruit, water and a pinch of organic cane sugar to create velvety folds of fro-yo-like sorbet.
These frozen treats are dairy, fat, gluten, high fructose corn syrup and guilt free, so eat up and enjoy.

Rockin’ Raw

This vegan foodie go-to is best known for its dessert menu — a 10-strong list of dairy and gluten free indulgences.
Rockin’ Raw’s cookies, made with coconut and flaxseed flour, are ideal if you’re on the go, but if there’s time to sit and savor we recommend the chocolate cake with vanilla coconut frosting, drizzled with fudge. Or really just any of their delicious-looking cakes and pies.

When the founder of Upper East Side bakery Vegan Divas first opened shop, getting people to taste a vegan dessert was a challenge. Now her line of gourmet baked goods makes regular appearances on “best of NYC’ lists.
Vegan Diva’s donuts are made with organic spelt flour, maple syrup, canola and cold pressed coconut oil. They’re also baked instead of fried, so you won’t get that heavy-belly feeling after eating one.

Cha Cha Matcha

The matcha craze has reached its apex thanks to Cha Cha Matcha, the SoHo spot that serves the usual cafe fare, but with a green tea twist.
Graze on matcha pastries washed down with matcha iced lattes, or opt for the matcha infused soft serve ice cream (the most ‘gram-worthy dessert on the menu).

Baked by Melissa

There’s almost always a line outside of Baked by Melissa‘s 14 NYC locations. Thanks to the popularity of these bite-sized cupcakes, the bakery now offers a gulten-free selection that’s just as tasty.
Melissa’s “sweet without the wheat” flavors include tie-dye, red velvet, triple chocolate crunch, caramel, peanut butter cup, cinnamon, chocolate marshmallow, and classic yellow.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
