Rochester Hills is a small city on the outskirts of Detroit, Michigan. The well-situated suburb is a great place to enjoy scenic areas, nearby cities, and delicious local cuisine. Next time you’re in town, visit one of the 10 restaurants below for a fantastic meal.

1. Chadd’s Bistro

Bistro, American, Soup, Fast Food, Vegetarian

Chadd’s Bistro serves sandwiches made with locally baked breads, high-quality meats, and fresh vegetables. The restaurant and catering service is a favorite in the community, and the tables fill up quickly. The chefs cooking up Chadd’s sandwiches aren’t afraid to try unusual combinations and different ideas. Try The Truth, a sandwich made with pastrami, bacon, Swiss cheese, and honey mustard on grilled rye; or Rajin’s Kamikaze, a sandwich of grilled Cajun-spiced salmon, Muenster cheese, and cucumber wasabi ranch served on grilled wheat. With the fresh flavors and fun combinations, no sandwich will disappoint.

The Silver Spoon

The Silver Spoon’s owners claim to ’embrace the culture and feel of dining in Italy’ by serving traditional recipes. Customers seem to agree that the pairing of familiar and unexpected dishes and the made-from-scratch feel of each dish give the real Italian experience. Try the Capesante, a dish of sea scallops, pancetta, corn, shallots, and cherry tomato, as an appetizer. Follow that with the fresh Branzino del Mediterraneo for a taste of grilled Mediterranean sea bass. The fresh-made pasta dishes won’t disappoint, and the menu also has plenty of meat and seafood dishes as well.

3. Burgrz

Restaurant, American, Vegetarian, Fast Food

Find a great burger spot with a Detroit vibe at Burgrz. The restaurant serves huge, gourmet burgers loaded up with fun toppings, like the BBQ Burger topped with onion straws, BBQ sauce, and cheddar cheese, or the California Burger with bacon, avocado, and cheddar cheese. The idea for the restaurant came when four brothers wanted to find the best burger in the USA and drove on a cross-country trip to discover the best of the best, so it’s safe to say these guys know their stuff. The burger shop provides options for vegetarians and tasty side dishes like waffle fries and sizzling onion rings.

Kruse & Muer in the Village

The Kruse & Muer chain has seven unique locations in Michigan, including a chophouse and an oyster bar, but the Rochester Hills location was the one that started it all. This restaurant is a great local spot to get seafood, pizza, and fresh-made pasta. The service is friendly and attentive, and the space is typically packed with local residents. Start with a bowl of Charley’s Chowder, a tomato-based fish chowder; followed by the lobster and shrimp fettuccine a la crème, a pasta dish served in a rich saffron cream with diced tomatoes and tomato basil fettuccine; or a blackened salmon sandwich served with marinated tomatoes and garlic cream cheese. Enjoy the comfy outdoor seating when the weather allows.

The creators of 2941 Street Food describe their food as ‘honest’ and ‘wholesome’, and the restaurant emanates that earthy, sustainable ambiance. To create your meal, you will select your chosen meal (stuffed pita, bowl, of bazaar meal), your protein, sauce, and torshi(pickled vegetables). Customers can also choose from a selection of street snacks, like hummus, stuffed grape leaves, or wings.
