Ceviche Inca

Located in an inconspicuous shopping center in Hialeah, Ceviche Inca is an unassuming restaurant servingserves well-received Peruvian fare. This no-frills spot consists of 15 tables and excellent daily lunch specials include soups, an entrée, dessert and a juice. Beyond their lunch special, guests are served a complimentary chicken cilantro soup upon seating. Menu highlights include the cau cau, lomo saltado, papa a la huancaina, aji de gallina and dorado.

Cuban Guys

With three locations spread throughout Miami-Dade County, Cuban Guys is a local, authentic chain offering Latin specialty sandwiches in South Florida. The star of their menu is the traditional frita cubana. The sandwich is marinated in a flavorful garlic, cumin and oregano base. The menu at Cuban Guys also consists of other comida Cubano staples such as the media noche, yucca fritas and plantains, almost all of which are served on a daily deals menu.

El Palacio De Los Jugos Latino

El Palacio de los Jugos Latino is a fresh and quick option for Cuban food. With indoor dining for the winter crowd and outdoor dining for those hot summertime days, the Hialeah branch of this eight-chain restaurant has it covered. From the menu, order the cicharrones, tostones and croquetas to start, followed by the carne en salsa con champañones.

Elevation Burger

Founded by California native Hans Hess, Elevation Burger serves sustainable grass-fed, organic hamburgers of the freshest quality. The actual Elevation Burger, after which the establishment was named, consists of two organic, grass-fed, free-range burger patties with toppings like caramelized onions, jalapenos, aged cheddar cheese and additional condiments. Also on the menu are veggie, vegan and kids’ burgers.

Along with many other Cuban families in the early 1980s, the Busquet family left their home in Cuba and moved to Miami. They opened Polo Norte, a restaurant that originally began as an ice cream parlor and evolved to add traditional Cuban meals to the menu. Polo Norte serves one of the best fritas cubanas in Miami. The burger consists of crispy homemade julienne potatoes, raw onions and an oversized patty. The patty has a chorizo and paprika combination that makes this frita especially flavorsome and distinct.

Tres Monitos Bakery

The family owned Tres Monitos Bakery serves authentic Colombian cuisine and pastries. There are menus for breakfast, daily lunch specials and dinner. Highlights include the bandeja paisa, sancocho de cola and pechuga la plancha with a side of tostones and rice. Complete your meal with a Colombian imported beer: bien fria Aguila.
