Mason Inn is a lively sports bar. It is huge. A 55 foot long solid oak bar lines one side, and is surrounded by wood benches, high-tops, brick walls, a stage and dance floor. The place is always crawling with college grads from the local Georgetown University, using the ample to space to chat, dance and watch sports on their dozen big screen tvs. Go for the buffalo wings or one of the BBQ sandwiches to accompany your pint as you watch the game with your crew.

Town Hall

Restaurant, American

This local hangout is owned by a group of close friends, and offers drinks, brunch, and serves as a venue for special events as well. The five proprietors have strong beliefs as to what makes a great local bar, so you will always find at least one of them minding the bar or chatting to regulars. It’s been operating in its present location only since 2012, but the great food, comfortable courtyard and bar and fantastic atmosphere soon made Town Hall ‘the Talk of Glover Park’ (Washington Post). poolside debate at Breadsoda © Matthew Hurst/Flickr
