Despite being known as a hotspot for the rich and famous, there are still plenty of cheap hotels in Aspen if you know where to look. Whether you’re hunting for a family vacation to the Rocky Mountains or a ski trip that won’t cost the earth, we’ve put together some budget-friendly accommodation options in this popular Colorado destination. With an array of affordable places to stay, Aspen no longer has to be the expensive ski trip of the past.

1. Eagle River Lodge

The Eagle River Lodge is clean and charming with an Old West ambiance. With complimentary breakfast, wifi and shuttles, the majority of stress caused by the little things is lifted for you. Rooms and suites offer panoramic or town views, ideal for watching the glittering lights in the evening. With a refrigerator, coffee machine, microwave and TV, you have all the amenities to have a relaxed morning or evening either side of a ski-filled day. There is also the option to upgrade your room to have a two-person whirlpool tub and king-sized bed.

2. Mountain Chalet Spa

The Mountain Chalet is located at the base of Aspen Mountain, near the Silver Queen Gondola, mall and restaurants, so there is an array of options to keep you occupied during your stay. A solar-heated pool is the main attraction at the spa along with the hot tub, sauna and steam room, as they are the perfect way to soothe any aches from a long day of hiking or skiing. There is also an indoor pool and games room to help you while away the hours if the weather isn’t great.

3. St. Moritz Lodge

Charming architecture gives the St. Moritz Lodge a European chalet feel. Situated at the base of Shadow Mountain, the lodge is surrounded by gardens which more often than not are covered in snow. A beautifully tiled outdoor pool has unrivaled views of the mountain to relax; alternatively, the indoor whirlpool and steam room are the ideal place to rest and revive. Rooms vary from hostel-style to two-bed condos, all with an intimate and warm setting that makes a great refuge from the cold weather.

4. Inn at Aspen

If you’re looking for somewhere with a convenient location, the Inn at Aspen is the place for you. Within driving distance of Buttermilk Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Aspen Art Museum and Snowmass, the Inn at Aspen also has the convenience of ski-in, ski-out access and a complimentary ski shuttle. With its own restaurant and bar, you don’t have to venture far for a nightcap or indulgent dinner. With an outdoor pool and hot tub, private balconies and patios, you’re sure to be able to make the most of the incredible views while enjoying the facilities.

5. Snow Queen Lodge

In the heart of Downtown Aspen within a few minutes’ walk of the town’s restaurants, shops and ski-lifts is the Snow Queen Lodge. With uniquely designed rooms and suites, all with private bathrooms, kitchens and private decks, the lodge is a haven for privacy while being budget-friendly. 6. Tyrolean Lodge

The Tyrolean Lodge is one of the few remaining old town lodges in Aspen; family-owned since 1970, the lodge has a homey feel to it. It has a rich history and is full of ski memorabilia, maps and Elk Mountain Range photos allowing you to discover the history of Aspen. Centrally located and within easy walking distance of downtown shops, restaurants, bars and Aspen Mountain, this cheap Aspen hotel is perfect for those who like to explore and mix with locals.

7. Limelight Hotel
