Eats

Eats

If you’re looking for one of the top places to grab brunch, head to Eats. It serves the type of classic American breakfast that is the perfect cure for a hangover after a night out on the town. If you are feeling chipper enough to have a brunch drink, Eats has killer mimosas. If not, go for the even-better coffee. You will most likely have to wait in line, so make sure you are prepared.

Velo Rouge Café

Velo Rouge Cafe

For those who love biking, Velo Rouge is the place to go. Marked by a large red bike (the velo rouge) hanging above the entrance, the cafe is decorated with bicycle parts. Some of its furniture is created from old bikes. Besides the great atmosphere, Velo Rouge serves great breakfast and brunch items, from scrambles to Blue Bottle coffee — one of San Francisco’s favorites.

Nourish Café

‘Tuna Salad’ at Nourish Cafe

Not only does Nourish Café serve some of the best açai bowls in the area, it is also a vegan-friendly location. It’s open from 7am Monday toFriday and 9am on Saturday and Sunday. It has baked goods, including vegan (and delicious) chocolate chip cookies and chocolate donuts. Get your meal to-go and head to Mountain Lake Park for a perfect outdoors brunch.

B*Star

The younger sibling of Burma Superstar, B*Star features some of the same dinner items, but it also has delicious brunch. The restaurant even lets you make your own mimosas. So if you feel the need to customize the amount of booze in your morning drink, you are able to. B*Star serves delicious Asian food from across the continent, and the breakfast is no exception.

Village Market

This homey cafe has been around for many years and provides stellar breakfast (and Blue Bottle coffee) in a welcoming environment. The restaurant and market can be hard to recognize from the outside – it’s mostly identifiable by the green exterior and a small round sign above the door. From crêpes to sandwiches it’s hard to go wrong at this neighborhood spot that racks up the hipster points.

Ashley’s Café

Coffee and sandwiches at Ashley’s

Egg scrambles and bagel specials rule the brunch menu at Ashley’s, and there are no complaints to be had. The egg sandwiches are delicious, and the same can be said for the chocolate chip cookies. So if you’re the type of person who wants to eat dessert for breakfast, don’t be peer-pressured into getting any type of healthy breakfast. Just go for a cookie or two.

Cinderella Bakery & Café

Pastries at Cinderella Bakery

This small town Russian bakery is perfect for the person with a sweet spot. It features everything from eclairs to fruit strudels. It also has more traditional breakfast items, including French toast and croissant sandwiches. The cute location is the perfect spot to people-watch from, making it a great spot for a solo brunch.

fifty/fifty

Everyone has those days when they just need to indulge. Fittingly, fifty/fifty has Dynamo donuts — arguably San Francisco’s best donuts — so go for it and splurge with no regrets. It also has a wide selection of drinks, from boba tea to a lavender Earl Grey latte. There is no way to mess up your order.
