If you are looking for a new designer outfit or a gift to take home, Cancun has plenty of shopping opportunities. You can always find great deals on cosmetics and fine jewelry, shopping in Cancun is tax free. These are just some of the fantastic places to check out if you’re heading out shopping in Cancun.

1. La Isla Shopping Village

Everyone in Cancun knows La Isla Shopping Village. Surrounded by water channels on the shore of Nichupte Lagoon, with more than 150 stores, it’s a great place to browse and shop. Famous stores, restaurants, a movie theater, an interactive aquarium and a museum all add to the attraction. If you fancy taking a selfie at sunset, the fountain is the best place.

2. Luxury Avenue

In spite of having only 25 stores, this exclusive shopping mall has some of the best international brands. It is perfect for fashion and jewelry lovers, with plenty of recognizable upscale names. The modern architecture is an example of the newest developments built Cancun.

3. Plaza Las Américas

With more than one thousand square meters this shopping mall, opened in 1998, has 234 stores. Located in downtown Cancun, it’s a favorite of the locals. With a recent expansion it’s gone from strength to strength. The latest fashions alongside bookstores and two cinemas wait for visitors.

4. Plaza Caracol

This mall can be found just north of the Cancun Convention Center and has over 200 shops and boutiques. Some of its famous stores include Señor Frogs, Sunglass Island and the Museo del Tequila. It’s one of the most renowned malls in Cancún, for good reason. You can find everything you need for your vacation and if you are tired of shopping you can always take a break in one of the restaurants and cafes.

The largest souvenir market in the heart of downtown Cancun, this is a lovely place to buy silver jewelry, Mexican handcrafts and some souvenirs. You’ll be pleased by the prices compared to elsewhere. “El Cejas” is an excellent place for eating good seafood. The best way to get there is by bus or taxi.

6. Kukulcan Plaza

Since its opening in 1992 Kukulcan Plaza has stood out for its great architectural design and spectacular Mayan stained glass. Open every day of the year, this shopping plaza receives more than two million visitors per year.
