El Solar

El Solar is a cool beach bar located right on Playa de Los Muertos, the beach that runs the length of the malecón in central Vallarta. During the day this is the perfect place to kick back and enjoy an ice-cold beer overlooking the sandy shores, and its location makes it incredibly easy to drop by. For anyone who likes some botanas (snacks) with their Corona, El Solar also has a comprehensive menu of tostadas and ceviche, among other items.

Swell Beach Bar

Swell Beach Bar is an amalgamation of restaurant, bar, and beer garden, making it a great spot to come in a group, as everyone can find something. This fuss-free beach bar is a choice spot for people watching on Los Muertos Beach and they also offer a couple of sun loungers if you get there early enough to lay claim to them. Soak up the sun in Vallarta with a beer to one side of you and a plate of coconut shrimp to the other. Dependable year in, year out.

Mantamar Beach Bar

Marival Resort swimming pool, Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit, Mexico.

Mantamar Beach Bar combines cracking ocean views, a refreshing pool to take a dip in, as well as some awesome four-poster beds to relax on – some of which are located right on the sand. Yes, beds. If anything screams ‘chilled-out beach day,’ it would be a four-poster bed and attentive wait service. The atmosphere and surroundings all radiate a first-class feeling, making you feel right at home upon arrival. Enjoy some of the delicious food available and order your drinks at the swim-up bar. DJs also play regularly.

Mango’s Beach Club

Drinks are on the beach at Mango’s Beach Club. Located right on the malecón, this lovely spot has understandably spectacular views of the ocean and outdoor seating which allow you to really take it all in. As well as being a beach bar, Mango’s Beach Club also offers a Sunday brunch menu and has a variety of food options running throughout the rest of the week. Aside from food, their drinks deals are affordable and change regularly. Check out the 2-for-1 margaritas or cubetas of beer.

Day Off Beach Bar

For great music and daily 2-for-1 beers, get down to Day Off Beach Bar. This spot, positioned perfectly on the malecón, is a lively hangout popular with tourists and locals. It offers an option for those who want to party with a view right into the early hours of the morning. While it’s not located in a smack-bang, sand-between-your-toes beach location, this is still a great beach bar with views onto the ocean and attentive service. Give it a go.

Aquazul Beach Bar & Lounge

A luxurious beach bar option with some absolutely top-quality facilities and service, Aquazul Beach Bar & Lounge is part of the Garza Blanca Resort and the place to be if you want to chill out and be pampered. The bar itself serves up a combination of light dishes and exquisite cocktails, perfect for a relaxed afternoon. It’s also located next to a swanky swimming pool for those of you who fancy a dip but don’t like salt water. This sophisticated looking place has seating both on and a little above the beach, both providing outstanding views.
