With an astounding diversity of natural and cultural heritage, Mexico is home to a total of 33 World Heritage Sites, considered to be of outstanding value to humanity. According to UNESCO, Mexico has the largest number of Heritage Sites than any country in the continent and the sixth largest list in the world. With hued sand dunes and craters, a breathtaking biodiversity, over 130 indigenous languages, and thrillingly intact archaeological sites, Mexico is the perfect place for the insatiable history and nature lovers.

Historic Centre of Mexico City and Xochimilco

Built in the 16th century by the Spanish on the ruins of the Aztec capital, Tenochtitlan, Mexico City has has five Aztec temples, the largest cathedral on the continent, and some fine 19th and 20th-century public buildings such as the Palacio de las Bellas Artes. Xochimilco is home to chinampas, known as “floating gardens,” the Aztecs’ ingenious form of wetland agriculture.
