Everything You Need To Know About Digital Dreams Festival

Brought to you by Live Nation, Bud Light Digital Dreams Festival is one of Toronto’s largest electronic music festivals, hosting over 90 DJs on four stages over Canada Day Weekend. As host to some of the biggest names in the EDM genre, like Bassnectar and Armin Van Buuren (see full line-up here), Digital Dreams is a sought-after event that brings in thousands of festival-goers to Toronto’s The Flats at Ontario Place, on the shores of Lake Ontario. The Culture Trip sat down with Kyle Standaert from Bud Light Digital Dreams Festival to get the history behind the city’s popular electronic music festival.
Can you tell us a bit about the original Digital Dreams founders? What was their inspiration for this TO-based music festival?

Live Nation created Digital Dreams to take advantage of the emerging electronic dance music scene and has been the driving force behind it since the start.

How has Digital Dreams evolved since your first festival?

The festival has grown in attendance and talent year after year. We take pride in advancing the festival to a higher level year in and year out to give our fans what they deserve: a great festival experience. On top of the production and artist advancement, we also engage in technological improvements that give our fans a more seamless experience. From our cashless RFID wristbands, to our new App, this year’s festival is offering more than ever before.

We encourage first time DD fans to follow our festival essentials guide. Stay hydrated. Drink Responsibly. Stick with your friends. Bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, earplugs, proper shoes, and don’t forget to eat! We encourage fans to check out all three of our stages to see the wide array of artists and genres our festival offers.

With so many music festivals in and around Toronto in the summer, what makes Digital Dreams stand out from the crowd?

The greatest characteristic that makes DD stand out above the rest is its location. We’re the only festival located in the heart of Toronto, on the shores of Lake Ontario, with some of the greatest scenery for a backdrop. It’s the perfect setting for an amazing weekend!

Do you have plans for Digital Dreams in the future? What’s next?

Our future plans are always in the works and progressing forward. Our secret to success is just that, a secret, so you’ll have to stay tuned next year to see what we have in store!
