Those infected with the traveling bug will often reach the corners of the globe and for some female travelers, there is always a consideration of whether a location is safe for solo travelers. Back in 2009, Rachel Sales, an avid traveler and writer had the same consideration but couldn’t access this information from travel guides. She wished for a community of woman who had experience of traveling and could advise her on her next locations.

It was from this gaping hole in the travel industry that Pink Pangea sprung into fruition. Pink Pangea is an online community of women who have a platform to share travel stories, give travel insights and share adventures. Together with close friend and co-founder Jaclyn Mishal, Pink Pangea has grown into a large global community of female travelers.

Pink Pangea now runs workshops and retreats all over the globe run by Pink Pangea’s co-founder, Jaclyn. A writing teacher and an inspirational public speaker, Jaclyn’s speciality is guiding people to express themselves fully. Her creative guided writing activities help even the most seasoned writers break out of their habits and expand their abilities. Jaclyn has led writing and Fearless Living workshops internationally in partnership with colleges and companies. The workshop’s strength lies in the energy of gathering like-minded women from all over the globe. Through Jaclyn’s direction of guided meditation and writing in the style of stream of consciousness, she helps participants access parts of themselves that many have trouble expressing otherwise.

What makes Pink Pangea special is their retreats which take place in some of the most beautiful spots on the globe, including Barcelona, Costa Rica, Venice, the Swiss Alps and Tuscany to name a few. Women from all over the world come together and explore these locations while discovering new parts of themselves through yoga, hiking and of course, writing.

Some of Pink Pangea’s participants are truly inspiring and each bring with them their uniques experiences and stories, such as ‘Stepping Off the Edge after 50,’ which documents real women boldly making courageous life changes, and ‘Diagnosed at 14, Taking Chances Forever,’ a piece about overcoming obstacles. This inspiration and energy as a group of females has a profound effect on the participants, and it’s the writing from the heart and soul that makes Pink Pangea the success it is today. Don’t miss the next ‘Writing, Touring, and Yoga Retreat‘ in Tel Aviv in May 2016.
