This leafy town in Surrey shares its name with the lake found on the edge of Windsor Great Park, where visitors can admire ancient monuments and cascading waterfalls. Virginia Water itself is a great base for exploring nearby areas – and, with Thorpe Park just a 12-minute drive away, it’s a great place to take kids to make sure you can get to the park early.
