Café de Dokter
Café de Dokter is among the oldest pubs in Amsterdam and was originally founded by a local surgeon in 1798. Over 200 years later, the pub is still extremely popular and is well regarded by Amsterdammers for its laid-back ambiance, excellent music and impressive whiskey cabinet. Besides its regular stock, Café de Dokter also adds a special, limited-supply whiskey to its menu every month.
There over 100 individual types of scotch and bourbon available at Café ZILT – a number that is constantly growing due to the bar owners’ insatiable thirst for quality whiskey. To show off its fantastic stockpile of bottles, Café ZILT regularly hosts tasting sessions and allows potential guests to book their seats online. The bar also keeps its shelves lined with a massive variety of international spirits, including South-American specialties such as rum, tequila and mezcal.
This stylish, old-school watering hole is renowned for its relaxed atmosphere and enticing drinks menu, which features numerous single malt whiskeys and American bourbons. The bar is well known for its high-class service and friendly, professional staff – many of whom are expert mixologists and all-round whiskey experts. Bar Oldenhof is currently preparing to host an ongoing series of tasting sessions that will begin in March 2017.
