Not a city to miss out on a culinary trend, Stockholm has plenty of great places to brunch. The trendy and wealthy Östermalm district is a hotspot in particular, where you can find everything from Continental to Swedish menu options. We list the best spots for a mid-morning meal here.

Mocco

Situated in the National Library of Sweden, Mocco serves food that is always homemade and well-cooked. Freshly baked pastries are decorated with natural ingredients, without using artificial additives. ‘Brunch De Lux’ is a must-try dish. Their delicious brunches include scrambled eggs, bacon and croque monsieur, yogurt with homemade granola, and a cocktail salad.

Nybrogatan 38

Nybrogatan 38’s menu is inspired by towns in southern Sweden, and the Swedish interior design with soft background music creates a cozy ambience. The meatballs here are a mouthwatering delicacy, with a strong beef flavour, and served with traditional Swedish side dishes such as mashed potatoes, blackcurrant, lingonberries and cream sauce. The prawn salad made from locally sourced prawns is also a great option.

Elverket

Located near the Karlaplan T-bana station, Elverket is a brasserie with an open kitchen. Their food is highly recommended by the locals, with meatballs being the most popular choice. This brasserie is busy all day so it’s best to come early and grab yourself a seat.

Boqueria Torget offers authentic Spanish tapas, served on high bar tables for an authentic Spanish feel. It also serves brunch at weekends, from 12-3pm; choose from British brunch, such as scrambled egg with bacon, or try the tapas brunch with Salchichón Ibérico de Bellota,a sausage, which the Spanish love.

Mornington Hotel

Located near Sibyllegatan bus station, and close to Östermalmstorg T-bana station, the restaurant in the Mornington Hotel is surrounded by books, and you will feel as if you are dining in a vintage library. A brunch buffet is available on Saturday and Sunday from 12-4pm with cold and hot dishes, from cured meats to herring, poached egg and meatballs.

Sannas

Situated in the center of Östermalmstorg, Sannas is a stylish and trendy restaurant with brass and marble decoration. The menu constantly changes here, and is adjusted according to the seasons. The restaurant prepares food from scratch, with natural ingredients and a lot of creativity. Brunch is served from 12-3pm on Saturday. In summer there is outdoor seating too.

Robert's Coffee

Situated in Östermalms Saluhall, Robert’s Coffee was founded by Robert Paulig, whose family has a coffee tradition going back seven generations. Robert’s Coffee offers 85 blends of tea and 35 different types of coffee, and the staff have an appreciation and genuine love for coffee, and a mass of knowledge to share. Speceriet

Specreiet is the sister restaurant of Restaurant Gastrologick, one of the most famous restaurants in Stockholm. The setting of the restaurant stays true to its Scandinavian roots, using minimal decorations with wooden tables and copper lamps. The restaurant is filled with a Nordic romantic ambience. Speceriet emphasizes the importance of using fresh ingredients and taking risk in coming up with new dishes. Their motto, ‘exiting flavours in a relaxed environment’, is well demonstrated in their dishes and surroundings.
