What better after a hard night’s clubbing than soaking tired limbs in a whirlpool tub or relaxing into a deep tissue massage. We scoured Ibiza for the hotels with the best spa facilities and treatment for those looking for some serious pampering time during their next trip to the White Isle.

Natural stone and crisp Balearic whites combine with sleek, contemporary styling and a super-chill vibe to make eco-friendly Aguas de Ibiza one of the island’s five-star favourites. And its 1,500-square-metre Revival Spa just oozes luxury, with an impressive choice of both treatments and facilities. Holistic therapies use local natural products wherever possible, and a collaboration with beauty brand Clarins means a range of high-end facial and body treatments. Low-lit and serene, the daybeds and hydrotherapy pool make you feel relaxed just looking at them, while their shimmering gold hammam is pure glitz.

As its name suggests, this is indeed one of Ibiza’s grander luxury-level hotels, albeit one with plenty of understated contemporary panache. The 1,300-square-metre spa is the very epitome of minimalist chic and divided into zones: Open Aqua, Open Experience, Open Beauty and Open Fitness. Open Experience offers a range of treatments in individual cabins, couples’ cabins or on an outdoor private terrace, while Open Aqua offers various hydrotherapy pools, underwater massage, counter-current swimming, hammam and sauna. For face, hair and other beauty treatments, Open Beauty is a luxurious pampering paradise and a great place to get yourself party-ready.
The centrepiece at five-star Grand Palladium White Island hotel is its luxe Zentropia spa. One of the best-equipped spas on the island, this sleek, minimalist haven features an enticingly long pool and an impressive spa circuit with water jets, hydromassage, jacuzzi, and bubble beds. There is also a sauna and Turkish baths, plus treatment rooms and a premium suite where couples can undergo a spa experience together. The large outdoor lagoon pool area is calm and relaxing and has numerous waterfalls and jets, as well as ergonomic loungers that are partially submerged in the water.
Who says spas need to be tucked away inside? The open-air spa at the swish Atzaró Agroturismo Hotel is a wonderful outside space set in tranquil gardens scented with orange groves. Freshly updated in 2018 in the theme of ‘natural luxury’, the spa takes the form of a Balinese temple positioned at the end of a stunning long pool lined with daybeds and manicured lawns. As well as the obligatory range of beauty treatments, massages and rituals performed in teak treatment cabins, there is a fitness club with a fully-equipped gym, yoga classes, sauna and hammam. After your spa experience you can relax on a daybed with a fresh juice and soak up the truly beautiful surroundings.
The Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay is the height of boho-luxe, and its small spa by Six Senses is in keeping with that feel. Massages and treatments take place in a cabana overlooking the sea or in stunning wood-panelled treatment rooms, while the nail bar and John Frieda blow-dry salon provide the perfect end to a day’s pampering, making sure you are groomed to perfection for the evening ahead. The gym isn’t huge, but it’s fairly well equipped, and there are regular yoga and pilates classes. This is a fantastic place to treat yourself (or someone else) to a delicious lunch and a relaxing spa session.
Surrounded by sun-soaked fields in the centre of the island, Ca Na Xica boasts one of the more bucolic and secluded settings on the island. Minimalist Balearic chic meets rustic charming in this adults-only boutique retreat, which offers such luxury features as a gorgeous chlorine-free swimming pool, and a fabulous inside-outside spa surrounded by olive groves and orchards offering a range of massages surrounded by nature.
Set into a cliff and surrounded by pine forest, the setting of the Hacienda Na Xamena takes some beating. The hotel’s show-piece is the series of heated seawater pools linked by tiered waterfalls that seem to cascade down the cliff, which are part of the hotel’s La Posidonia Spa. As well as featuring stunning views, the eight pools are heated to different levels and provide full-body hydro-jet massages – each session in the pools last 45 minutes, and a trip to this spa is worth it for that alone. If it’s a complete spa experience that you’re after, there is a full range of body and facial treatments available, as well as massages and special packages that include lunch or dinner.
