Fuerteventura is home to bronzed beaches, pristine golf courses and world-famous water sports destinations. You can relax in five-star comfort at these luxury hotels on the second-largest of Spain‘s Canary Islands off the coast of North West Africa. The hotels are on or near some of the finest beaches, including Playa de las Gaviotas and Playa Morro Jable, plus Playa de la Barreta in Corralejo on the north coast, with views of Isla de Lobos.
Of the three Iberostar resorts in this southernmost corner of Fuerteventura, the Palace is the most serene and sophisticated. Like its sister properties, it sits at the end of a miles-long stretch of beach, from Playa de las Gaviotas, a one-minute walk from the hotel, to Playa Morro Jable. All 437 rooms and suites have comforts like coffeemakers, balconies and large Smart TVs. There are four pools and the spa features a jetted pool and thermal circuit. The main restaurant has a team of show cooks preparing made-to-order fish, steak and pasta, plus room service is an option around the clock.
The traditional Gran Hotel Bahia Real is in Corralejo, Fuerteventura’s largest resort area. The hotel draws families and couples with its prime beachfront location on quiet Playa de la Barreta, with views of Isla de Lobos, all-inclusive and half-board plans, plus a 33,000sqft (3,066sqm) spa and huge pool area that never feels overcrowded. You can stroll along the private pier at sunrise for stunning views of the ocean.
In the Caleta de Fuste, this family-friendly, Mediterranean-style resort is surrounded by golf courses and a sheltered beach. The resort itself is built around a network of pools and semi-tropical gardens. There’s a hydrotherapy spa and four themed and buffet restaurants to choose from, plus a piano bar under a glass dome. You can step onto the Playa del Castillo beach right outside the hotel for pristine sands and lake-calm waters.
Bahiazul Villas & Club isn’t just one of the top hotels in Fuerteventura, it’s one of the best in all of the Canary Islands. This stylish collection of villas is close to the action of Corralejo but at enough of a distance to provide peace and quiet. All 95 accommodations are bi-level villas with three bedrooms, open kitchens, private pools, and roof decks. The buffet restaurant serves breakfast, free with all bookings, and dinner, while the spa has a sauna and Turkish bath and offers treatments using Canarian aloe, salt and volcanic stones.
Judging from the outside, Barceló Corralejo Bay might seem like a generic all-inclusive, but its local flair and adult-oriented nature distinguish it from the pack. Bright, modern rooms start at a generous 450sqft (42sqm) and come with bathrobes and slippers, coffee and tea replenished daily and furnished terraces or balconies. The indoor/outdoor spa and water circuit are highlights, alongside the suites with private hot tubs overlooking the ocean.
Part of the Spanish R2 brand, this large colonial-style resort on the hillside of Costa Calma has tiered botanical gardens, a series of lagoon-style pools for adults and kids – one with an infinity edge looking over the ocean – and a large variety of onsite food and drink options. Activities like mini golf, archery, tennis and Zumba are available. Most of the guest rooms have wonderful sea views from their balconies.
Elba Palace is situated in the middle of Fuerteventura Golf Course, one of the most highly regarded in the archipelago. Don’t fret if you’re a non-golfer because there are Balinese-style sun beds for unwinding with a book, as well as a pool and a spa with a sauna and steam room, tennis courts and daily fitness classes. Don’t forget to pay a visit to the wine cellar, with more than 300 varieties to sample, plus an extraordinary collection of more than 1,000 brandies.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.
Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.
Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.
Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.
We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
