This adults-only luxury hotel is located in the popular Playa de Ingles resort on the south end of Gran Canaria, a short stroll from its sandy beach. Its 67 high-tech guest rooms are finished in colourful and funky styling, with a contemporary opulence that really sets in the mood – with the help of some tweakable atmospheric lighting. The hotel’s secluded gardens are filled with exotic flora, there’s a spa for couples’ pampering and a rooftop restaurant provides the perfect spot for candlelit dinner for two.
Opened in 2016, this Fuerteventuras adults-only hotel has a boutique-style atmosphere that is understandably popular with couples. No shortage of Bali beds around the pool means guests can luxuriate in comfort, with the option of a bottle of chilled champagne to really set the mood. The chain’s signature Despacio Thalasso Centre offers a range of hydrotherapy treatments, plus couples’ massages, while the restaurant offers an open-air terrace for alfresco dinners for two.
Originally part of a building designed by celebrated Canarian artist and architect César Manrique, this adults-only Lanzarote hotels takes luxury to the next level. Most of the 25 high-end suites open onto terraces with fabulous ocean views, with some also adding whirlpool tubs for alfresco soaking. Upscale amenities include Nespresso machines, smart TVs and private wine bars. The entire hotel gleams a pure, clean white and is set around a super-swish sea-view swimming pool. Set in a 17th-century typically Canarian manor house with earth-red walls, immaculately tasteful styling and period charm in spades, the Hotel San Roque is hands down one of the finest on Tenerife. Individually styled rooms are brimming with original touches such as Rennie Mackintosh furniture, while some feature whirlpool tubs; the suite, set in the watchtower, boasts a rooftop terrace with sea views. Opened in just 2015, this boutique-size hotel is certainly one of the more funky and contemporary on the island, and is located just a couple of minutes’ walk from pretty Las Canteras beach on Gran Canaria’s north coast. This adults-only property is kept suitably conducive to romancing couples with some of the 10 guest rooms opening onto decked terraces with lovely sea views. For indoor snuggling, the suite has a super-comfy sofa and massive flatscreen TV, lights can be switched to set the mood and bathrobes come as standard; breakfast can also be served in-room for couples who’d rather not get out of bed.
A high-end option from the upscale Barceló chain, this adults-only hotel is a short stroll from Fuerteventura’s buzzing sandy coastline around Corralejo. The laid-back, kid-free atmosphere is ideal for couples, with plenty of facilities to entertain and space to just relax. All rooms extend to terraces or balconies, with top-level accommodation offering alfresco soaking opportunities. Dining is also topnotch, with a 150-item breakfast that includes chilled Cava and freshly squeezed orange juice. If all that’s not relaxing enough, couples massages are available in the hotel spa.
