Russia is such a giant country that highlighting the best vegetarian hotspots would only offer the slimmest insight into the food scene here. Modern Moscow’s restaurant scene is undoubtedly the business and tourism hub of Russia – the majority of visitors will find themselves here at one point. The greater Moscow area has as many exciting food options as you’d expect, and as the vegetarian population in Moscow continues to grow, more and more local restaurants are starting to concentrate on them. We’ve found some of the best vegetarian restaurants that Moscow has to offer.

1. Moscow – Delhi

Cafe, Restaurant, Indian, Russian, Vegan, Vegetarian

Moscow – Delhi is a hidden gem for the true vegetarian right in the heart of Moscow. It takes a refreshed approach to Indian food in Russia, and the chef focuses on the rural flavours and gastronomic elements of Indian and Sri Lankan cuisines. The cocktail list offers traditional non-alcoholic nourishing cocktails and lemonades, with such ingredients such as masala, curry leaves, cinnamon and mango. We highly recommend booking in advance.

2. Fresh

Restaurant, Russian, Vegetarian

The Fresh chain was established in Moscow back in 2012 on Bolshaya Dmitrovka St. and became the first modern gastronomic restaurant of vegetarian cuisine in the city centre. Apart from the main menu, the Fresh team also regularly invents special seasonal courses and nourishing cocktails for those who care a lot about their health and digestive well-being.

3. Fruits And Veges

Restaurant, Russian, Vegan, Coffee

A contemporary vegetarian restaurant located right in Artplay, an artistic district of Moscow, and surely they know how to put on a good spread without meat and fish courses. Menu items like an avocado salad with beans, mushrooms and pineapple prove that you can fill your stomach and delight your taste buds totally meat-free. They also have a good selection of juices and smoothies.

5. Hitrye Lyudi

Cafe, Russian

Another famous spot among locals, Hitrye Lyudi is a vegetarian café chain in the centre of Moscow. The place itself is bursting with colourful goodness and coziness. A vast choice of raw cakes, matcha smoothies, yoghurts, salads and salad wraps, bowls and other different types of local and imported fruits and vegetables. Hunger will be the last thing on your mind when you leave this place, believe us.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
