The under-rated seaside city of Gdańsk is becoming more and more popular thanks to its reputation as a trendy city with an abundance of cool cafes, bars and restaurants. If you’re in town and want to know where the best WiFi spots are for your work needs and more, check out our pick of the best cafes around.

Gdańsk

Jozef K

Cafe, Bar, Pub, Restaurant, Contemporary

With its absolutely eye-catching interior and comfortable chairs, Jozef K is not just a perfect place for digital nomads, but it’s a quirky cafe and bar for everyone. However, those who love to work on their laptops will want to know that there are two quiet private rooms at the rear of the venue. These cosy rooms are ideal for working, writing and relaxing away from the busy street outside. WiFi is fast, staff are welcoming and good coffee is served up as well as a nice selection of beers. By night, it transforms into a trendy bar.

Przystanek Kawa

Cafe, Vegetarian

Located just a five-minute walk from the beach at Brzezno, Przystanek Kawa is a great place for the online worker who also likes an easy escape to paradise. This is a quiet suburb of Gdańsk and one with a local charm to it. The advantage of Przystanek Kawa is that it is locally run, cosy and warm and doesn’t quite get as busy as those cafes in the more touristic streets of central Gdańsk. On top of this, it has fast WiFi and a good selection of cakes and pastries.

Cafe Ferber

Cafe, European, Coffee

Cafe Ferber is a small chain of cafes in Poland. This venue is extremely well located on Gdańsk’s famous Ulica Długa, and offers superb breakfasts and brunches. By day it is a cosy and spacious place to work online from your laptop. By night, it kind of transforms into a lively bar serving cocktails and wines. The Cafe Ferber in nearby Sopot is also part of the chain and equally popular. It also appeared in our list of best cafes in Sopot.

Dobra Kawa

Cafe, Polish, European, Healthy

With the name Good Coffee (Dobra Kawa), this well laid out and spacious venue is a relaxing option to get some work done. With plenty of decent-sized tables and sockets on the walls, Dobra Kawa is located a few streets away from the hustle and bustle of Gdańsk. As well as good coffee, there is a wonderful selection of freshly made cakes. Fruit juices and a range of flavoured teas are also served.

Drukarnia

Cafe, Contemporary

Drukarnia is on the much-photographed Ulica Mariacka street, and boasts an outdoor balcony where customers can enjoy their coffee in the idyllic setting. A stylish haunt for coffee lovers, the cafe takes pride in being a coffee specialist, and all drinks are made to perfection. Add to this some cosy stools and tables with consistent WiFi and you can easily while away a few hours working in here.

Cafe Factotum

Cafe, European, Coffee

Cafe Factotum is small and cosy with a black and white tiled floor. It is more of a place for sweet treats, than savoury brunches offering a good range of cakes and ice creams. The bar is small and compact and there is outdoor seating in the warmer months. WiFi works well and the staff speak good English. Alcohol is also available but it’s more of a coffee venue.

Anima Cafe

Cafe, Contemporary

One of the closest cafes on route to the train station is Anima Cafe. It has a limited amount of space, but it also has fast WiFi and welcoming staff who know how to make a good coffee. Sandwiches and light snacks are available throughout the day. Due to the compactness of the space, it can sometimes be full, so get in early and grab a seat so you can get a few hours of work done.

Tekstylia

Cafe, Polish, European

Tekstylia is a more upmarket addition to the list. It has recently moved premises having once occupied an old building in need of renovation. The new venue on Szeroka is a perfect spot for lunch or late afternoon beers. However, from morning until afternoon the well-sized tables and fast WiFi here make it an ideal spot for working professionals to get out their laptops and tablets and get some work done in a pleasant cafe.

Cukiernia Sowa

Cafe, Dessert Shop, Polish, Pastries

Cukiernia Sowa labels itself as a magical meeting place – it is a historic cafe on the main street, Ulica Długa in Gdańsk, and has been here for years. Desserts, cookies, cakes and ice cream are all served in the venue which dates back to 1946. Imported coffee, flavoured tea, expert chefs and polite waitresses serve you while you work to your heart’s content. They also sell their own jam and have won awards at the World Cake Championships for their exquisite recipes.
