With an atmospheric old town, beautiful beaches and a thriving nightlife, Budva is the most popular tourist destination in Montenegro. And, when you’re not chilling at Bečići beach, taking a day trip to Sveti Stefan or sampling the coastal cuisine, you’ll want a nice hotel in which to relax. Living up to the name, this is a splendid hotel, with family-friendly credentials, a beachfront location, multiple eating options and plush accommodation. Set on the edge of Budva, it has a private beach with a volleyball court, and there are a tennis court and six pools in which to splash about. Parents can relax at the spa, thanks to the onsite babysitting. Choose between three main restaurants, including an à la carte Asian spot.

There’s a grand feel to the white façade of this four-star hotel, located on the seafront promenade in Budva, a 10-minute stroll from the fortified Old Town. You’ll be just 200 yards (183m) from both the Old Town and the beach at this centrally located hotel, which has a lovely terrace restaurant for al fresco breakfasts. Rooms are spacious and have a pared-back style, with muted colour schemes, marble bathrooms and plenty of natural light. The Hemingway Bar & Restaurant has an à la carte menu, though you’re also well-positioned to explore the local bars and cafes.
