A getaway island is incomplete without a few beachside bars to enjoy some draft beer or classy cocktails and seafood. Here are our favorite spots in Phu Quoc island to do just that.

1. Rory’s Beach Bar

If you are looking for the quintessential nightlife spot, Rory’s Beach Bar it is! This place is run by an expat duo, so you will find everything here catered to Western tastes—from the décor and music to the menu and prices. The spacious open-air lounge setting has comfortable chairs that you can relax on under colorful lanterns, as you sip a classy cocktail with a backdrop that features unbeatable views of the ocean and surrounding islets. The extensive drink menu has a diverse range of tropical cocktails, beers on tap, and imported wines, priced at 30,000 VND and up. Visit during happy hour, order a delicious grilled seafood platter, and watch the sun go down in style. During high season (November to March), expect DJs, foosball games, bonfires, and sport events. For New Years, Rory’s hosts the biggest beach party on the island.

2. The Rabbit Hole Irish Bar

Bar, Restaurant, American, European, Australian

The Rabbit Hole Irish Bar is one of the best places to end up during your night out in Phu Quoc island, or you can spend the whole day. There are plenty of activities here to keep you entertained: dart boards, pool tables, classic Nintendo games, poker, Jenga, Connect-4, and more. All of this comes with great lounge and house music, awesome comfort food and drinks, and even nitrous balloons. Go easy on those though.Thursdays are ladies nights, where ladies get buy-one-get-one-free promotions for cocktails. Happy hour happens daily from 6:00 p.m.–10.00 p.m. where cocktails are sold for 20% off. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for upcoming events.

3. Coco Bar

Established in 2012, Coco Bar is your standard beach bar and has everything any self-respecting beach bar should have: an open-air setting with chairs spilling onto the pavement, fantastic views, friendly and attentive service, great grub choices, and of course, drinks. You will also find a bonus: shisha! There is a pool table for passing pool sharks to show off their skills, board games for those who have run out of things to talk about, and cute puppy dogs running about for those who love giving belly rubs. And that’s not even the best part! Coco Bar is actually known for its delicious homemade rum. We recommend the coconut rum, the passion fruit rum, and the tri-colored rum shot. If rum is not your thing, try the coconut-infused wine. You can also buy some bottles as souvenirs.

5. Golden Sand Bar

Golden Sand Bar is located in the south west coast of Phu Quoc where all the luxury resorts can be found. It’s rather new, having opened in the beginning of 2017, but within a short time has made its way up the list of good bars in the island. You will get to spend some quality time here; there are hammocks and swings overlooking the beach, board games, outdoor seating to enjoy a nice meal, and a fantastic menu. Golden Sand Bar also offers jetski rentals. A few meters walk from here, you will find beautiful art installed in the ocean.Your beach day will be perfect here. Think of this bar as a resort bar but without the resort.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
