This New Dubai Attraction Will Completely Change The Way You See The City

The coming months will bring plenty of excitement to Dubai. With Dubai Safari opening soon, another hot landmark will open its doors in the city in January 2018: the Dubai Frame. While the opening of the long-anticipated tourist attraction was expected in December, it has now been pushed to the new year. Everyone is talking about the Dubai Frame—and with good reason. This architectural wonder will change the way residents and visitors see the city.

Some may ask, “Why is this building called Dubai Frame?” The answer is simple; the attraction resembles a picture frame. Located near Zabeel Park, the Dubai Frame is set to be one of the most epic buildings in Dubai. Measuring 150 meters (492 feet) high and 93 meters (305 feet) wide, this gigantic frame will make people see Dubai in a new way. People driving or walking past the Dubai Frame will be able to see two perspectives via the picture frame: looking from one side, they will see old Dubai and the Creek, and from the other, they will see the new Dubai with its world-famous skyline full of skyscrapers.

The architectural project itself is something that will amaze anyone. Award-winning architect Fernando Donis designed the Dubai Frame. Donis has made other contributions to the city’s skyline in the past as well, namely the city’s Porsche Design Towers and the Dubai Renaissance Tower. The structure of the building includes two towers connected by a bridge at the top. This bridge is approximately 100 square meters, 25 of these being a glass panel in the middle. The project is worth 160 million AED and is expected to become one of the main tourist attractions in the city, alongside the Burj Khalifa and the Burj Al Arab.

Although looking at the Dubai Frame from outside is awe-inspiring, the real excitement will be inside. The attraction intends to take visitors through the city’s past, present, and future. The ground floor will contain a museum, which will depict Dubai’s beginnings as a fishermen’s village. The experience will be an immersive one, including mist and even smells in order to truly place people in the setting. From there, they are led to the sky deck, where Dubai’s present and views are highlighted. The tour finally ends back in the mezzanine, where visitors will “travel” through time in order to see Dubai 50 years from now, building excitement about the city’s future.

People are ecstatic about the opening of the Dubai Frame, and tickets will cost only 50 AED for adults and 30 AED for children.
