From golden beaches to a Roman city and a national park, Kusadasi offers so much more than your average beach resort. Leave your luggage at one of the luxury resorts and visit one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World at the Roman city of Ephesus, go for a stroll through the Dilek National Park – home to pelicans and lynx – or take a cruise from Kusadasi’s yacht-filled harbour to the Greek island of Samos. Stay near the action at one of the best hotels and places to stay in Kusadasi.

The blond-wood suites with views of the Aegean might be pretty, but as soon as you arrive at this beach resort, you’ll want to step outside. Make a splash in one of the five outdoor pools, catch some rays on the private beach or take a ride in a buggy around the 18-hole golf course. When the sun goes down, visit the outdoor theatre – where you’ll find fire shows, whirling dervishes and DJ parties.

2. Charisma De Luxe Hotel, for infinity pools and endless views

If you love a good view, this is the place for you. Not only do the suites overlook the sea, but even the pools take in the incredible surrounds. On the grounds, you’ll find an infinity pool where you can look out to the turquoise water, while the pool found inside the hotel comes with a retractable roof so you can take in those cloud-free Mediterranean skies. There are nine types of rooms to choose from – but the jewel in the crown is the Diamond Suite, which features a separate bedroom, a balcony overlooking the Aegean and a remote-controlled jacuzzi.
