Exhibiting the private collection of Rahmi M. Koç, a famous, self-made Turkish businessman, this museum has an excellent collection of antique steam engines, boats, cars, locomotives, submarines, planes, and much more. It is also conveniently located next to the Golden Horn, Turkey’s historic trading harbor, making for a child-friendly day out in this lively area of the city.

There’s something distinctly nostalgic about the Istanbul Toy Museum, beginning with the baroque villa that houses it. You’ll find elaborate displays resembling theater stages, which are filled with more than 4,000 beautiful antique toys collected from all over the world. 5. The Naval Museum

Established in 1897 and recently renovated, The Naval Museum pays respect to the maritime legacy of the Ottoman era, as well as the Turkish Republic. Inside, you’ll find a large collection of imperial caïques(small fishing boats), figureheads, naval ship ornaments, historic ship models, and pieces of the Byzantine chain that was used to block the entry of enemy ships into the Golden Horn.
