A hearty breakfast composed of the region’s best offerings has always been a big deal in Turkey and the summer city of Antalya is no stranger to this culinary tradition. Various varieties of cheeses, tomatoes from the garden, endless rounds of Turkish tea, and being surrounded by nature or overlooking a view of the sea describe some of our favorites below.

1. Çakırlar Köy Kahvaltısı

Certainly one of the best places to eat breakfast in Antalya, Çakırlar serves up the traditional köy kahvaltısı (village breakfast) that will pretty much keep you full for the rest of the day. Cheeses, olives, marmalades, fresh tomatoes and peppers, and gözleme (pan fried thin dough with various fillings) are served in a rustic village garden.

2. Börekçi Tevfik

One of the best places to get börek (pastry with various fillings), Börekçi Tevfik hasn’t changed much since the 1930s when the place opened. You’ll find amazing serpme börek varieties, which means that the dough is rolled out thin and expertly by hand. From lor cheese to white cheese with parsley, minced meat to the famous sweet börek topped with powdered sugar, anything you choose is a perfect start to the day.

3. Sevgi Çiftliği

Translating to “Love Farm,” you’ll feel plenty of love for Sevgi, a laid back breakfast spot where chickens and ducks roam around freely and tables are set under the shade of trees. As for the breakfast, it’s a full Turkish spread (as expected) with cheeses, village butter, homemade green olives, honey and clotted cream, local eggs with sucuk, various pastries, and much more.

4. Sakinler Kır Bahçesi

Another great place to enjoy a fully decked out Turkish breakfast in the heart of nature, Sakinler is also known for its excellent gözleme. You can choose to sit in one of the private wooden outdoor cabins or in the garden, and watch as your waiter fills up the whole table with small plates filled with cheeses, olives, tomatoes, eggs, pastries, marmalades, spreads, and much more.

5. The Big Man

Bistro, Cafe, Turkish

Don’t be fooled by the rather peculiar name of this breakfast spot—The Big Man in Lara is the only place that offers an excellent breakfast with a beautiful sea view. Enjoy the full spread of the classic Turkish breakfast including cheeses, nuts and dried fruits, tomato and cucumber salad, clotted cream and honey, and olives (just to name a few), with Antalya’s blue sea and stunning mountains in the background.
