If you want to meet people, Drunk Monkey is for you. Located in the middle of Carpenter Street, this bar is a haven for locals, expats and backpackers. The vintage pub along one of Sarawak’s oldest streets offers a selection of beers, wines and cocktails. Expect strong WiFi, good music and a variety of snacks inside one of our favourite bars to check out when spending 48 hours in Kuching.

Good Spanish food is difficult to find in Southeast Asia and especially in Borneo. But Pincho Loco along Carpenter Street is an exception. The bar imports ingredients and their chef from Barcelona to cook authentic tapas resembling those found in Spain. Walk inside and find a distinct Spanish décor with tall tables and stools. The menu offers both hot and cold tapas as well as imported wine. Latin music plays in the background, creating a casual environment to unwind for a more sophisticated evening.
