These Pictures Of The Sunrise Over Beaches In Bali Are Breathtaking

A dedicated dawn photographer braves water snakes and early mornings to capture a series of magic sunrises on the exotic island of Bali. Here are the stunning results.

Photographer Bertoni Siswanto got up at 4am to take these magic shots of traditional fishing boats at dawn on the island of Bali in Indonesia, which has some of the world’s most spectacular beaches. At this time in the morning with the sun so low, the water acts like a mirror, while the clouds reveal amazing colours.

Siswanto, 39, said: “Each location is about 30 to 45 minutes on scooter from my home. So every morning I will prepare by waking up at 4am to check the weather and sky conditions to decide which location to go.”

“The boats are used by local fishermen who catch fish to sell and earn money to support their families. Some of these boats are also available for rent by customers for boat tours or to go fishing. The traditional boat which looks like a spider is called jukung,” he added.

As well as the early start, Siswanto also had to dodge the local wildlife. “Sometimes there are water snakes; therefore it can be quite dangerous and challenging to take these pictures,” he said.
