Thanks to its one of a kind East meets West culture, Macau is home to a treasure trove of unique and interesting places to discover. Macau Creations, not featured in most tourist guides, is a unique Macau souvenir shop offering the perfect chance to find something cultural and beautiful to take home. We find out more about it.
Often you visit a place and want to take home something unique, something that defines that destination and serves as a memory of your time there. In Macau, this charming corner shop is exactly that. Macau Creations is a truly local shop where you can buy traditional gifts and souvenirs sourced from and created by local Macau based artists.

It’s a great place to pick up a genuine “Made In Macau” item to remember your trip. Rest assured, these are not your everyday uninspired and tacky souvenirs, the sort you might find at generic souvenir shops; these are handmade and unique items designed by Macau’s best local artists.

Gift Shop

The shop occupies three floors of the Cunha Bazaar building in Taipa. The outside of the building is unmistakable as it’s painted in a striking full scale mural hinting at the wealth of creativity that awaits you inside.

On the ground floor you’ll find the charming baked goods store known as known as Choi Heong Yuen Bakery. They are one of Macau’s best known bakery chains, specialising in traditional pastries, like Macau’s famous almond cookies and delicious jerky.

Above the bakery, you will find the three floors dedicated to Macau Creations. Here you will find all kinds of creative products from local artists, including Macau themed clothes, stationery and memorabilia.

In particular, there are a lot of goods bearing the image of the shop’s mascot, named “Soda Panda”, a cute cartoon panda who likes to do Macanese things like eat egg tarts and play roulette.

There are also several creative things to do. There is a DIY postcard creation station, complete with its own in house mailbox to post things right away, and a button making station.

The remaining two floors are dedicated to leather goods, ceramics, notebooks, sketches by local designers.

Bags for sale

On the top floor there is a gallery providing regular exhibitions every year.
It’s a beautiful store and well worth a visit for a genuine keepsake to remind you of Macau and its unique culture.
