Tianjin features a variety of high-end selection establishments for lavish fine dining. If you’re looking to spend big on luxurious meals, the city’s cosmopolitan hotels and restaurants offer amazing experiences. From Chinese food to Western cuisines, here are the most extravagant restaurants that you’ll find in Tianjin.

Smoki & Co

This American steakhouse is known to serve the finest steaks in Tianjin. That said, if you’re not in the mood for a sizzling steak, Smoki & Co prepares a luscious smoked salmon fillet as well as a selection of house wines and salads. The staff here are highly attentive and have conversational English.

Zest at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel

The Michelin-starred restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel is known by all Tianjin expats to have the greatest buffet in town, hands down. As seafood is Tianjin’s specialty cuisine, being a coastal city, fish dishes here are as fresh as they come. Taste from Zest‘s line of specialties from East to West’s best, and make your last stop at the scrumptious dessert station to top off the feast.

Lobby Lounge at Renaissance Hotel

Located in Renaissance Hotel, where you can enjoy live music and pleasant company, the Lobby Lounge is an underestimated fine dining experience in the TEDA district. Whether you’re alone or out with a group, the servers are more than hospitable in making your visit a memorable one. The homemade tofu is also a surprise favorite, and the lounge serves exquisite beverages.

Brasserie FLO

The French luxury restaurant is based in the Italian concession area of Tianjin and is where you can really indulge your wallet. Expect the chef to make a personal visit to your table after you’ve enjoyed eating imported seafood delicacies from France. Brasserie FLO is among of the most expensive restaurants in Tianjin, but arguably the most authentic French fine dining experience you will find in town.

Oscar House

The acclaimed Oscar House is sought after for high-end drinks and cigars, and also for its scallops, lamb cutlets and prawns. This old-school lounge in a mini mansion has vintage leather furnishings and an atmosphere that like many establishments in Tianjin is an ode to the colonial past. It’s also frequented for delicious home-brewed craft beers. It doesn’t hurt that the owner is fluent in English and knows how to mix a real cocktail either.

1. Tian Tia Xuan at The Ritz-Carlton hotel

Hotel Restaurant, Chinese

Plan your follow-up visit to The Ritz-Carlton’s Zest with a visit to their Chinese restaurant. Tian Tia Xuan pays meticulous attention to honoring the dishes that define the diversity of Hong Kong. Try the barbecue pork buns or the deep-fried carp, but most importantly, order from the range of dim sum dishes. If visiting in a small group, perhaps on business, it’s possible to rent a private room.
