The northeast Beijing’s suburban district Shunyi is perhaps not home to as many good restaurants as the downtown Beijing, but with many new residential compounds welcoming their new occupants, the set up of various leisure centers, and the iconic New China International Exhibition Center in the district in recent years, Shunyi has no lack of good breakfast and brunch spots today, with a fairly cheaper price than its downtown equivalents.

1. Manna Bakery & Restaurant

Bakery, Cafe, Restaurant, American, Healthy

The bakery and restaurant Manna is one of the best of its kind in Shunyi. It provides almost everything you can think of for a decent healthy American brunch: bagels, croissants, pasta, salads, yogurt, avocado juice, and the not-so-healthy-but-couldn’t-be-more-delicious cakes. It has children’s meals too, which is ideal for families with little kids.

2. Jiayibingding Tea House (Alpha & Omega Café)

Tea Room, Chinese, Tea

The Guangdong dim sums are among the best breakfast and brunch dishes in Chinese cuisines, and tea houses are the best places for dim sums. The Jiayibingding Tea House doesn’t have very fancy décor, but the taste of its food has been recognized by many local dim sum lovers.

3. 360 Casual Dining, Hilton Beijing Capital Airport

Bar, Hotel Restaurant, Restaurant, Chinese

The restaurant of Hilton Hotel will make ensure your freedom to try the best flavors from around the globe all at once in a pleasant environment. It sometimes holds family campaigns in which separate food selections are provided to parents and children. There is a free shuttle bus 24/7 from both the T3 and T2 of the Beijing Capital International Airport.

4. Maybe

Cafe, Patisserie, Chinese, French

The Maybe café is super popular among social media users because it looks amazing in photos—both the food and the décor. The milk tea snow ice and strawberry layer cake are the café’s online celebrities because they are both delicious and good looking. The café is full of interesting light installations and succulent plants that will make it difficult for you to stop snapping photos.

5. Wanjuan Book Bar

Cafe, Japanese, Chinese

It has a houseful of books that will make bookworms want to stay there forever, but meanwhile it is also an unconventional restaurant with sushi, ramen, and coffee. It’s a perfect place for people who enjoy reading Chinese books to spend a whole day.

6. Huguosi Snacks

Diner, Restaurant, Chinese

Feeling like traditional Beijing breakfast but don’t want to wake up early to go to the downtown? No worries, because the most famous Beijing snack chain, Huguosi Snacks, has a branch in Shunyi! Besides, it is not as crowded as the other Huguosi Snacks in the city center. Just feel free to try pea cakes, Jiaoquan, Douzhi, and Miancha here like a local.

7. The English Tearoom

Cafe, Restaurant, Tea Room, British, American

It doesn’t cost much effort for anyone to decipher from the name that the restaurant specializes in English food. Here you’ll be able to have fish and chips, a classic English breakfast, and eggs benedict as your breakfast. It’s a perfect brunch spot for homesick Brits and people who are into British culture.
