Located in Shaoguan, China, Nanling National Forest Park is a sprawling 66,718 acres, making it the largest natural conservation area in Guangdong Province. This national park is not only known for its size, but also for its mountainous terrain; it is home to one of the tallest peaks in Guangdong. Formed by volcanic eruptions approximately 50 million years ago, Mount Xiqiao is an extinct volcano and a sprawling scenic area. Xiqiaoshan National Park, otherwise known as Mount Xiqiao, is located in Foshan, China, and has been designated as both a national forest park and a national geological park.

The park is best known for its 72 peaks, one of which is the tallest in all of Guangdong Province, reaching a height of 1,134ft. The national park is also known for its many caves, and 217ft statue of the goddess of compassion, Guanyin, which rests at the summit of Mount Xiqiao. This national park is a must-visit for history buffs and nature lovers alike.

Unlike Guangdong’s other national parks, Zhaoqing Xinghu is most well-known for its lake, Star Lake and its Seven Star Crags. The crags’ name derives from its shape, which resembles the Big Dipper constellation, and is located within the area’s limestone mountains. Carved into the limestone cliffs are countless poetic and religious inscriptions dating back to the Tang Dynasty. The park is also home to both stalactite-filled underground caves and temples, making it an irresistible destination for anyone traveling in the area.

Baiyunshan National Forest Park is better known as the “White Cloud Mountain”, and occupies 41,513 acres of land within Guangdong Province. The national park was given the nickname White Cloud Mountain due to the clouds that seem to permanently crowd around one of the main peaks of the Funiu Mountain range. Baiyunshan National Park has both a warm-temperature zone and a subtropical temperature zone, which allows for vegetation from both northern and southern China to coexist within its forests. This national park’s diversity and fairytale scenery make it one of the most beautiful parks in Guangdong Province.
