Have you ever wished to talk with a Dane about all these things you’ve heard of about the Danish society? Yes, there are plenty of books and myriads of articles praising Denmark as a nation, but what do locals think? You can now find out by taking the ‘Meet the Danes’ tour at the National Museum of Denmark.

What the ‘Meet the Danes’ tour is about

An unusual tour taking place this summer at The National Museum of Denmark is ideal for those who are curious to learn everything about life in Denmark nowadays, straight from a Dane.

Your guide at ‘Meet The Danes’ tour will be a young local answering all of your questions regarding history, lifestyle and culture in Denmark whilst narrating personal stories and experiences about life in Denmark. Different guides are availble on every tour meaning the stories answers will vary. Nevertheless, the guide will share Danish habits and give an insight into Danish society.

Did you know, for example, that locals leave their strollers with their sleeping babies outside cafés or restaurants, or what Janteloven is about and how it has formed the Danish values? We bet you’ve heard about the concept of hygge, but are you’re sure you’ve got it all right? Find out while walking in the hallways of one of Denmark’s most beautiful museums and see a part of Denmark’s past while listening about the present.

The ‘Meet the Danes’ tour takes place in August every Saturday and Sunday at 10.30 pm, 12.00 pm, and 1.30 pm and is free with a ticket to the National Museum. Every tour has up to 25 participants, so make sure to book a place in advance.
