Located in Selfoss on the southwestern edge of Iceland, this hotel has its own indoor geothermal bath. The water is mineral-rich, pumped from 300m (980ft) underground and warmed by lava. After a healing soak and sauna, head back to your chic room with its bifold doors opening onto a terrace and the wild green yonder before a three-course dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Take a dip in this (literally translated) “warm river” or get sweaty in the black stone sauna.
