If you’re a fan of lace, gingham and leaded glass, you’ll love Eden Hall. Each of the 10 rooms in this 1897 Queen Anne manse with turrets and a colonnaded porch has a unique layout, many with views of Charlottetown Harbour. The 18 rooms and 22 suites of this former 1857 Roman Catholic convent have been renovated to a heavenly state. The custom furniture and wool carpets are reminiscent of a fine European hotel. Suites are spotless, with full-size appliances in the modern kitchens, marble baths, cushy memory-foam beds and designer fixtures. Close to downtown, there are several elite golf courses in the area.

There’s plenty of room to play at Rodd Crowbush, even if you don’t know a sand trap from a sand dune. Located in Crowbush Cove Provincial Park, the clubhouse at the Links golf course reputedly has the best seafood chowder on the island. The resort has 49 rooms and suites and 32 two-story cottages with kitchens and screened porches. Don’t miss the bonfire on the beach every evening. It’s a 10-minute walk – unless you ask the bellman for a lift in a golf cart.
