Hammamet is a thriving community formed of locals and tourists, with beautiful beaches and historical architecture. So you’d expect it to have adequate nightlife and entertainment spots. But being Tunisia’s primary tourism destination, these aren’t just adequate; they’re the best in the country. Here, we whittle Hammamet’s bars down to the best of the best.

Night View of Hammamet

Tunisia Lodge

Boasting excellent views, friendly staff, and a pleasant location aren’t enough for Tunisia Lodge. It also provides a relaxing and fun evening experience with good food, a range of drinks, and a lovable animation team who perform impersonations and get everyone dancing with games. Children are also catered to with a mini-disco, but if you want more adult time, don’t panic – there’s a separate area for drinking and more grownup company.

Chiraz

Bar, Restaurant, North African

Venture through magnificent gardens of exotic plants and soaring palm trees and you’ll encounter Chiraz. One of the bars at luxurious hotel The Sindbad, it’s among Hammamet’s most upmarket bars, featuring fine dining from the adjacent a la carte restaurant with the best cuisine, both international and North Africa. There’s seating around the pool and live music that’s the fine balance between being merry enough to keep you entertained and peaceful enough that you can still hear your conversation.

Le Sultan

Bar, Hotel Restaurant, American

Winning Trip Adviser’s Travelers’ Choice Award speaks volumes. Considered one of Hammamet’s best bars, it’s clean, with welcoming workers, a pleasant location, and a delicious array of food and drinks. Bar decor is important as nobody wants to sit in darkness with no life, or equally unpleasant, blinding gaudiness. Le Sultan gets it just right – the design is modern, contemporary, and fresh. Although this bar welcomes families and children, it’s also a lovely location for a date night.

Djinn Bar

Bar, Restaurant, North African

Djinn Bar, a recipient of Trip Adviser’s Certificate of Excellence, has a reputation that precedes it. Many bars are associated solely with evenings, but this one also serves drinks and light meals all day long. In fact, Djinn Bar is open from early morning until late into the night – but you might want to reserve the drinks until after dusk. If weather allows, which it usually does thanks to the Tunisian heat, your sensual experience will be completed with live music on the outside terrace. Simply idyllic.

Hotel Les Citronniers

Bar, Hotel Restaurant, Contemporary

In a lovely location just a short walk from the famed sun-drenched beach, this is the perfect place to rewind with a few drinks after a long, tiring day of seafront sunbathing. Not only is the bar well looked-after and comfortable with cheerful loud music, it also serves an assortment of food that is inexpensive considering its excellent quality. And you can’t come to a bar and not order drinks. Luckily, Les Citronniers doesn’t disappoint in this department either.

Oasis Club

If you want a more wild experience than the slightly calmer bars previously mentioned, look no further than Oasis Club. Well-known throughout the area, it’s commonly frequented by Hammamet’s tourists who want to let their hair down at a good party. An electric atmosphere with a vibrant drinks menu, you might want to plan a sedate day to follow, maybe lounging on the beach, as you’re bound to use up a lot of energy keeping in sync with the loud beats here. Beach Bar

Bar, North African

A refreshing contrast to other bars that can sometimes be stuffy, especially if they’re in a city, Beach Bar is affectionately known by locals as “The Beach.” From 10 am daily, it serves everything from vodka to cognac, as well as zesty salads and impressive seafood when the drinking whets your appetite! Come dusk, romantic candles are dotted around the bar, forming a gorgeous setting to watch the sun go down.

Vincci Nozha Beach Resort

Bar, North African

The bar here exudes a very homey feel, which is a nice touch if you’re a tourist from many miles away. Vincci Nozha has an abundance of food to offer, and it’s great value for your money. Not only it is situated in a beautiful area of Hammamet, the bar is also alive with entertainment, all in all providing a strong sense of friendliness.

British Bar

Bar, British

You don’t have to be British, or even want to especially indulge in anything British, to appreciate this unique Hammamet bar. It’s open-air and definitely showcases an insatiable energy. Get on your dancing shoes and hit the floor, which is thriving with people from all nationalities, and no, before you ask, the DJ definitely doesn’t just stick to quintessentially British sounds like teacups clinking. Instead, you’ll find just about every musical style under the sun blasting here, especially Rai, from North Africa, and Latin house, particularly on Saturday evenings.
