Agadir’s coastal location makes it a prime destination for seafood lovers. There are plentiful bounties from the ocean to tuck into at mealtimes. Here are some of the best seafood restaurants in the popular Moroccan holiday resort.

1. La Scala

One of the top seafood restaurants in Agadir, La Scala’s extensive menu has two entire pages dedicated to fish and seafood delights. One dish served here that is often difficult to find in the area is baked fish. Other items include sea bass, monkfish, sole, langoustine, lobster, mussels, and prawns. Combine freshly caught seafood with traditional Moroccan cuisine with a fish tagine. A selection of meat-based dishes are available too. Sit outside and soak up the views or enjoy the air-conditioned comfort of the indoor dining room.

2. Les Blancs

Located next to the beach and at the entrance of Agadir Marina, Les Blancs offers a selection of Spanish and Moroccan dishes with a heavy focus on seafood.The restaurant is also licensed to sell alcohol drinks to accompany your tasty meal. A particular speciality to try here is the paella. Big enough to satisfy two people, it could be an ideal choice for a romantic evening in Agadir. A popular seafood restaurant and grill with locals and tourists alike, Salsa Rosa has the added bonus of staying open fairly late at night; if you’re a late eater or have a case of the late-night munchies, this is a great place to visit. The prices are also very reasonable. Fish can be fried or grilled depending on your preference and other seafood treats include prawns, squid, mussels, and clams. Seafood paella and seafood tagine are also on the menu and, if there’s a member of the group who doesn’t fancy fish, other options include pizza, pasta, salads, and meat brochettes.

6. Restaurant Plage Bleue

A highly rated restaurant in Agadir, Cafe del Mar not only serves delicious seafood fare, but its beachfront location and outdoor terrace make it a terrific place to watch the sun go down. The atmosphere is romantic, the service is good, and the food is great. Beautifully presented dishes include salmon and avocado salad, battered fish with chips, sardines with mozzarella, tomato, and pesto, herb and lemon calamari, and grilled fish with a colourful assortment of roasted Mediterranean vegetables.

9. O Playa

Located on the seafront promenade, Agadir’s O Playa has a diverse menu with a changing selection of seafood dishes depending on the season and the catch. The decor is attractive and there’s a pleasant outdoor dining area too. Also available is an extensive selection of desserts to enjoy after mains like grilled squid, sea bass, sole, monkfish, and seafood paella. There are several western options and a decent selection for vegetarians as well.
