1. Shisha Lounge

This lounge is a cozy hole in the wall with a fabulous treehouse structure that allows you to sip cocktails in the open air. Downstairs and inside it is sleek and cool, and from Thursday to Sunday is jam-packed with revelers and the latest tunes. And if you get hungry, try one of their fabulous wood-fired pizzas to go with your cocktail.

Burger & Relish

More than just a diner-style burger joint, this restaurant has had their mixologists compete in competitions in the U.S. Their cocktail menu is delicious and imaginative with everything from White Russians mixed with ice cream to the popular tequila-pineapple infused Pepino all sipped in a terrific retro cool ambiance where the best old school tunes are always spinning.

2. Purple Pub

The fun of Accra street life is to be had at this small but always lively pub located just off Danquah circle in the heart of Osu. It’s great for a pub crawl or just to chill and sip Club beer under the stars while the latest local tunes are pumping and the bustle of Accra goes by. Off the beaten track and always fun, street dancing is also encouraged.

3. Cave Bar at Urban Grill

Swanky, sophisticated, and with a lovely ambiance, the Cave bar just off the main restaurant of Urban Grill atop the Icon building is the perfect place for those who seek quality and expertly mixed classic cocktails. Excellent mixologists will tend to all your drinks preferences. And if you prefer your drinks outside, you can choose the open terrace with its wall of self-watering foliage.

4. Rockstone's Office

Bar, Pub, Pub Grub

Run by Accra legend and hip life pioneer Reggie Rockstone, this sleek and well-appointed spot, also known as Django’s bar, benefits from a large circular bar and private cabana-style areas in a two-story compound. Expect the latest club hits, a great drinks selection and the man himself on hand to welcome you.

5. Republic Bar and Grill

The only place to go for Akepeteshie-laced cocktails is in a pub-meets-street-venue environment. Mixed with local flavors such as coconut, hibiscus, and sugar cane, their drinks are always popular (and strong!). Republic specializes in live music nights, is one of the most popular bars in Osu, and there is always something happening on any given night.

6. Coco Lounge

Well-dressed, spacious, and always fun, Coco Lounge has a long and well-stocked bar ready to serve all drinks to your specifications. Also popular are their Tequila Thursday cocktail nights, with large selections of the signature drink, sombreros, and salsa dancers thrown in for good measure.

7. Champs Sports Bar

A popular everyday spot known for their quiz nights and huge Accra cross-section that attend various events. Champs is always lively, packed, and fun.

8. Tee's Tavern

An Accra gem, this hidden spot delights with its vinyl record lined walls, local vibe, and supremely laid-back ambiance. Grab a table on the street and watch a peaceful side of an old neighborhood go by while listening to the soul and funk-heavy playlist as you sip on your drinks.

9. Honeysuckle


This always expanding and every popular sports bar is modelled on a classic old English style pubs. Expect heavy carpeting, dark wood, booths, tall bar seating and large screens alternating between English news and European football. Great place for happy hour or just a chilled pint after work.
