The park’s Tropical Hardwood Hammock ecosystem is a home to many native plants and animals such as foxes and birds. Snyder Park is home to Bark Park, a special park designed for dogs that includes a lake meant for dogs to swim in. In addition to beautiful sights, the park also provides opportunities for recreational activities such as volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, a disc golf course, and playgrounds.

This state park is an oasis of wildlife and beautiful landscape. The abundant tropical hammocks house iguanas, birds, gopher tortoises, and a nature trail hike goes through the park with signs along the way describing the habitat and fauna found along the trail. An audio tour can be taken with personal cell phones while on the trail, there is a mile-long dark blue freshwater lagoon in the park, and visitors can rent canoes or kayaks to paddle along the lagoon.
