Fort Lauderdale Beach

1. Fort Lauderdale Beach

Fort Lauderdale Beach

Despite the many parties and activities on this popular beach, the city of Fort Lauderdale keeps the Fort Lauderdale Beach groomed to spotless perfection. Tall pine trees line the coast, providing shade from the warm rays of the Florida sun. The supple white sand settles against the azure gradient of the ocean, and the stretch of brick behind the sand presents the perfect pathway to jog or stroll along while admiring the beach. Shops and restaurants along the beach’s promenade provide ample opportunity for food and fun while at the beach.

2. Snyder Park

Snyder Park is a beautiful pocket of Fort Lauderdale brimming with nature. The flowers of the park’s butterfly garden attract graceful butterflies that flutter around the greenery. The park’s Tropical Hardwood Hammock ecosystem is a home to many native plants and animals such as foxes and birds. Snyder Park is home to Bark Park, a special park designed for dogs that includes a lake meant for dogs to swim in. In addition to beautiful sights, the park also provides opportunities for recreational activities such as volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, a disc golf course, and playgrounds.

Las Olas Beach

Walking into Las Olas Beach is like stepping into a postcard. The smooth expanse of sand provides a relaxing spot to lie down and watch the crystalline blue water, and the ocean is warm and perfect for light swimming. During sea turtle nesting season, from March to October, sea turtles return to their homes on Florida beaches, including Las Olas. Las Olas Boulevard runs along the beach with plenty of places to shop and dine, as well as museums and art galleries to browse through.

This state park is an oasis of wildlife and beautiful landscape. The abundant tropical hammocks house iguanas, birds, gopher tortoises, and a nature trail hike goes through the park with signs along the way describing the habitat and fauna found along the trail. An audio tour can be taken with personal cell phones while on the trail, there is a mile-long dark blue freshwater lagoon in the park, and visitors can rent canoes or kayaks to paddle along the lagoon.

5. Fort Lauderdale Beach Park

This park has a classic, friendly vibe, and sits right on the beach, allowing a view of Fort Lauderdale’s beautiful coastal waters while beach-goers play and ease in the sand. The picnic tables and grills make this park perfect for a lunch right by the water. Visitors can swim in the water, shoot hoops on the full basketball court, or challenge themselves to beach volleyball on the volleyball court. With warm weather and warm waters, this beach-park combination is perfect for relaxing or having fun.
