"An amazing immersive experience!"
This whole trip was amazing! Our groups guide, Juno, was fantastic and knew so much about Japan and its history. I’ve never been on a tour before, but after this trip I’ll happily do one again. It’s extremely fast paced and you walk A LOT, but you get to see so much by doing so and it really immerses you in the culture of Japan. Seriously, be prepared to walk over 20,000 steps a day! One day I almost hit 30,000. It’s worth it though, and by the end I felt confident enough that if I visited Japan on my own I could navigate their country even without speaking the language. We usually had a couple hours of free time a day, either at dinner or at a location to buy souvenirs and explore on our own. Juno was always happy to recommend food locations or places to go during that time. For anyone considering this trip, please make sure you can keep up. I can’t emphasize enough how much you’ll be walking. You also need a phone that works. If you have an unlocked phone, I recommend an eSIM. Otherwise use your phone carriers international option. You’ll definitely want to use WhatsApp while there. I’d also recommend a power bank for your phone if you like to take pictures. You probably will be out most of the day and won’t have an opportunity to charge your phone until late afternoon. I honestly loved everything. Just under two weeks and probably one of the top five experiences of my entire life. Every location we visited had something I loved, and I can’t wait to make a trip to go back!
