Pigeon Forge, in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, sounds idyllic and rural, right? Not exactly. What was once a farming town is today a self-proclaimed “family vacation hub,” heaving with attractions and hotels. The city owes a lot of its fame to Dolly Parton, whose Dollywood theme park is a must-see. But it’s not all man-made glitz – Pigeon Forge is nestled in the Appalachian Mountains, so there’s plenty to keep hikers and outdoor lovers occupied as well. With so much to do – and endless potential for sore muscles – you’ll be thankful there are so many hotels in Pigeon Forge with hot tubs, all bookable with Culture Trip.

Stick with Pigeon Forge’s musical theme by staying at this hotel chain started by Jimmy Buffett. In keeping with its island-beach-lifestyle style, the hotel offers in-room jet spa tubs for the ultimate in relaxation. Choose between the River King Whirlpool Room, which sleeps two, or the fountain whirlpool suite or the presidential suite, which both sleep up to four people. If you need even more downtime, sit on your balcony with signature frozen margarita in hand, or opt for the Wastin’ Away signature massage at the hotel’s spa, before heading across the street to ride the Ferris wheel.

2. RiverStone Resort & Spa, for tranquil family stays

The tranquil location across the river from Downtown lets you avoid the hubbub of the main drag, while at the same time, you’re just four blocks away from Dolly Parton’s Stampede and a short drive from Ripley’s Super Fun Park and Big Top Arcade. The one-to-four bedroom condos decked out in warm shades and crimson fabrics, come with kitchens and lounge areas and are perfect for long stays or families. All the rooms have tubs, but for the ultimate in luxury, go for the larger three/four bedroom apartments: the master bedroom in each has a whirlpool tub.

A stay at Dollywood leaves guests surrounded by myriad attractions bearing Dolly Parton’s name, from the Dollywood Express steam train and Dolly’s Home on Wheels to her replica childhood abode at Locust Ridge. Plus there are rollercoasters, a bona fide water park, nightly country music shows to keep you busy, as well as an indoor heated pool, and an outdoor “swimming hole” with waterfalls. The outdoor hot tub with views of the mountains is dreamy whilst the bright rooms conjure Dolly’s spirit perfectly with butterfly bed runners and prints and pink shag carpet in the Dolly Parton Suite.

The cool color pallet and angular, minimalist-chic rooms of this Pigeon Forge Marriott provide a calming retreat from the often-gaudy attractions in downtown Pigeon Forge. Centrally located, overlooking the West Prong Little Pigeon River, the hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from family-friendly attractions such as MagiQuest and Dukes of Hazzard Museum. Enjoy views of the mountains by the fire pit, from the loungers around the “lazy river” outdoor pool, or while soaking away the day in the 24hr outdoor hot tub. For winter guests, there’s a year-round indoor pool, too. Teens will love the arcade machines in the games room.

If you’re lucky enough to book the River View King room, you’ll have a private whirlpool tub, too. This pristinely-kept Best Western is well situated opposite Dolly Parton’s Stampede dinner show, and just across the river from a golf course on the southern end of town, in case you’ve brought your golf clubs with you.

There is a lot to recommend this independent Pigeon Forge hotel, but its hot tub situation is one-of-a-kind. Not only does it have an indoor heated pool and whirlpool area, but you are invited to linger there with nightly movies shown on a huge screen with free popcorn! If you’re romancing your sweetie, the hotel’s king jacuzzi suite with fireplace – with its own private hot tub – might be just the room for you. The hotel is right in the heart of downtown, steps away from popular eateries such as Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, while the customer service is second-to-none.
