Hoboken has officially gone to the dogs—in a good way. With all the restaurants, bars, and bistros there are for humans, it’s only fair that some welcome your four-legged friends as well. From indoor and outdoor spaces to burgers and pupsicles (yes, you read that right), there are plenty of places where you can take a “paws” and bring Fido along. Here are the best dog-friendly restaurants in Hoboken. “Bone” appetit!

1. D’s Soul Full Cafe

Cafe, American, Healthy, Coffee

This community-minded café prides itself on serving tasty bites, being a cultural hub, and, of course, allowing dogs both in and outside of the restaurant. At D’s Soul Full Cafe, you can bring your pooch, enjoy an art exhibit or live music and eat a gourmet sandwich. We give that two paws up.

2. Ainsworth

Restaurant, American, Beer, Pub Grub

Not far from Pier C, the Ainsworth is a chic gastropub that has outdoor patio seating where all dogs are welcome. Sip on a cocktail, and enjoy the view of the Hudson on Taco Tuesday. And make sure to bring your pup along too!

3. Empire Coffee & Tea

Cafe, American, Coffee

This cute and colorful coffee roaster-tea shop offers fresh coffee, gourmet provisions and a spot to sit back, relax and enjoy it all. They must know that having your dog by your side makes everything better because Empire Coffee & Tea allows visitors to bring their pooch inside with them.

5. Zack’s Oak Bar and Restaurant

Bistro, American, Beer, Pub Grub

On the corner of Willow Avenue, Zack’s Oak Bar and Restaurant offers mouthwatering burgers and brews and is pet-friendly to boot! Grab a table on their streetside patio with your pooch and chow down. Since Zack’s is right across the street from the park, both you and Fido can go and walk (or run) off your meal.

6. Lutze Biergarten

Bar, Restaurant, Contemporary

The newly opened Lutze Biergarten gives visitors a front-row seat to the Hudson River and New York City skyline. They serve a weekly brunch and offer special menus from July through October, but they are dog-friendly 24/7, 365 days a year. Bring your furry companion so that you can both enjoy the fresh air, good bites and brews, and good company.

7. Frosty Pooch

Food Truck, Fast Food

Although it’s not a restaurant, per se, Frosty Pooch gets an honorable mention for going totally to the dogs. This ice cream truck serves lactose-free, organic, frozen sweet treats in all of your canine’s favorite flavors: bacon, peanut butter, banana, and more. Parked somewhere on Sinatra Drive, Frosty Pooch is a perfect place to bring your pup when they’ve been a very good boy or girl—but that’s every day, right?

We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.
