Located right on the Brazomar beachfront in Castro Urdiales, the four-star Sercotel Hotel Las Rocas Playa is one of the most luxurious places to stay in town, since there are no five-star properties. Sleek, modern and stylish, its public spaces are clean and bright, while its rooms are decorated in soft pastel shades and offer beautiful sea views. Simple, clean and comfortable, this one-star property has everything you need for a great budget stay – from light en suite double rooms to a lovely little coffee and breakfast area in which to relax. Situated in the centre of Castro Urdiales, Pensión Chili is just a five-minute walk from the port and Ostende Beach. It’s housed in a lovely wine-red coloured building and features a cosy and homely interior. Staying here feels akin to staying with friends – as public areas are filled with personal touches from paintings and plants to model boats and odd knick knacks. Rooms are slightly on the small side, but are perfectly comfortable and nicely decorated in soft colours and old oil paintings. There are no other facilities, but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants close by.
