1. Venkatappa Art Gallery

To pay tribute to K. Venkatappa, one of the most well-known and highly regarded artists in India, the Karnataka government founded an art gallery that showcases his sculptures and paintings. Founded in the 1960s, the art space exhibits contemporary art work by several other prolific artists too. Situated in the Cubbon Park area, the gorgeous red building looks picturesque with a lotus pond in the front yard.

A mansion believed to have been built in 1915 was turned into the National Gallery of Modern Art in Bangalore by the Department of Culture in India. The gallery has works by some of the most famous artists in India, like Amrita Sher-Gill and Jamini Roy. Within the 3.5 acres area there are green lawns and open art displays, making this one of the most beautiful art galleries in India.
